Swedish tanks feel like a divine test of patience

Maybe I'm just a bad player, but 90% of what I'm facing is seems to be impenetrable from every direction, and the armor on most vehicles around 3.0 can't even stop a stiff breeze.

Sweden takes some getting used to, its definitely not a nation for new players but bad or otherwise, you will get the hang of it, more than likely you will lean towards the tanks with APDS rounds and HEATFS so that you can pen just about anything as getting through the armor of enemy tanks seems to be your pressing issue. I would recommend playing two trees at the same time for a little while so you can practice playing with vehicles your are trying to deal with as Sweden (I recommend China, Russia or USA) until your a little more confident and then focus fully on Sweden.

Bring the truck with a bofors on the back and drive behind the enemies before they even spawn for easy 7+ kill games every time. Once you get the 5.0 medium with a 3s autoloader, use that and boom you're at 7.7. Everything else at low tier is pretty garbage

Well make sure to rush for those HEAT and APDS rounds as they help a lot BUT if US and Ger was your initial experience then it is important to note that Sweden operates like your stock US tanks, you need to play cookie clicker on every tank and hunt down each crew member to kill it or manage to cause an ammo rack explosion. Patients is not a virtue with sweden, its a requirement.

even though its around 3.0 it has a pretty good 105mm with heat that has 600mm max pen (its the Sav m/43 1946)

Once you get the little ikv 103, it all becomes easier. And I used that until I got to 7.3.
I found that the t34 85, and the comet are a good combo to go with.

Pre-5.0 Sweden is a pain, but once you get Strv m/42 DT and Pvkv II you can start playing effectively like a very aggressive flanker or long range sniper. At 5.7 you have the finnish vehicles to add to Strv m/42 DT and after that I'd advise pretty much skipping 103s entirely and gunning for 105 while following the finnish line.
