Original sounds werent great by any means but there werent any issues with them, then since theyve started changing them nearly ever second update for years its been all over the place.
Air mg/cannon you could hear across thew whole battlefield till fixed, constant additions that all seem to be louder/more obnoxious only to be changed again a few updates later.
Then recently most the individual sounds by themselves were good but some sounds will seem to cut out the second a new louder sound appears, tanks that drive up to you full speed with no sound. Dead vehicles engine sounds still radiating from a location the vehicle is long gone.
Havent heard so much complaining about game sounds than the last few patches in groups in various discords i play with.
Not sure which cannons you think are terrible, but there are a few AA that just seem to drown out anything over the map the second they start firing.
For example I like to play my Shermans in the same lineup, and with the last patch shooting the main cannon just lacks... "oompf" for the lack of a better term.
Is it a problem? Not really, in hindsight it might actually be better since they have a lower impact on the overall sound base, making it easier to keep track of enemies when there is a cluster of tanks fighting in close combat.
plus i've had a few times where my tank getting hit makes no sound at all, just crew die.
I am not arguing about the authenticity of the sound. I'm just saying it changed after the patch.
I mainly hear engine sounds now sadly
