Air Arcade Battles unbalanced

I'm fairly new to the game with about 30 hours of playing both tanks and planes.

Last night was quite frustrating for my squad mates and myself. We played for over 3 hours and lost every single arcade air battle we got into, and by no fault of our own. Our squad got best squad several times, however our team overall did nothing to finish the objectives.

The biggest problem we are running into is getting matched up with people 1 or 2 tiers above us. We are getting destroyed by planes that are so much better than ours. For example we were seeing P-38 Gs against our P-26 peashooters. How is this balanced?

Our squad rank is 1 before entering a fight.

What are we doing wrong? How can we ensure we are going into an arcade air battle against people with the same tier airplane?

The higher BR in the squad is used to match make your squad.
Also the lack of people at lower tiers will make you go up against higher tiers.

to some extent you are also at the mercy of who is avalible to play. From what I understand the game *tries* to pair you up with teams at your Battle Rating but if it can't find enough players at the same BR as you then it starts looking around at people higher and lower.To the game's credit I have yet to have a biplane shot down by a jet.

You can help yourself by keeping all your stuff roughly around the same BR and of course learning what craft you are good against and which you want to avoid.

There is also the issue of the nations that don't have enough planes to keep a competitive lineup of similar br. Like low tier brits for example. Or the poor japanese.
Meanwhile the americans and russians are beyond undertiered when compared to their equivalents in the german tree.

Well, we still can't figure out why the game pairs us up with people so much higher than us. We all dropped to BR 2.0 or lower and yet we still find BR3-4 planes in our games. And it isn't just like 1 plane, it's like 5-6.

Let's see... P38 vs my nimrod. didn't work so well for me.

If it is the case that there are not enough players in our BR range, then I wouldn't mind waiting 1-2 minutes for a game rather than the 5-10 seconds it is currently using and just throwing everyone together.

depends on what their total BR for thr top three planes is compared to your total BR for yours then it selects +/- 1 br then -.7 if they have been losing a lot lately..... its quite convoluted and hard to follow.

As someone who has been playing this game for over a year and having almost a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of hours in the game, I will say that Tiers of planes do not matter; They are there to just represent era's of planes / tanks and to prevent players from just skimming over to the jets. BR's or BattleRatings are what determines what you face. If you mouse over your plane / tank in the hangar or even a mission, it will tell you that planes BR, and thats whta the matchmaker depends on - the Battle Rating, it will try to find people with the closest Battle Ratings to you. Please do note that the match maker WILL iserach for players with a BR that can be higher or lower than yours.

If you think this is PhD level mathematics then you are probably too stupid to be on the internet unsupervised. This is the sort of stuff you get at late primary school levcel (10-12 years old). A pretty basic compound equation with three known variables...... it barely even qualifies as entry level algebra.

The game works within strict bounds. You will ONLY be placed in a match with players of an average BR which is +/- 1.0. Go out in 3.0s and you could see anything from 2.0 to 4.0. There are ways to play the matchmaker in the air game by making sure that the first, second, third are one BR step down from the previous. Doing this lets you fly with an average BR of, say 2.7, whilst having a P47D (BR 3.0) in your line up. Literally everone that crys about seeing "overtiered" enemies is simply too stupid to understand the MM. The system of extending the BR spread at quiet times was removed, replaced by the ability to join games in progress (and thus launch games with low player numnbers).

Whoa! Cavour, returning insult with insult puts you at the same level as the person you're intending to insult.

Admittedly, Cowinspace can come off as rude, in your face and rough around the edges, but remember, he responded many times to your questions which means his intent was to be helpful. I don't know about you, but I don't insult a person right after they tried to help me with a problem.

Again, your real issue is with your lack of skill. Thirty hours isn't all that much time in game and I'm sorry, but my experience tells me that a P26 should be able to contend with a P38. Give it more time and you won't even blink at the tought of engaging a P38 with that Peashooter.

I don't know Cowinspace and I never asked anything to him about this game.
Maybe for you it's kind of Guru but I don't know who he is.
Small question:how do you know that I played 30 hours?
I uninstalled War Thunder long ago.
