How tf do people defend against Fox 3 ?
I don't know why but i have tried everything and it always hit me, notching, chaff by intervals, changing directions while chaffing intervals. i don't know what else to do...... even fox 3 without DL or direct lock from the plane itself only missiles lock....

Depend on how close they are, the further away, the luckier you will get, closer, low chance of even surviving.

usual you trick the doppler radar for that you have to fly 90 degree to the missile if you want to know more there are a lot of youtube videos explaining how it works

chaff is extremly situational and not very useful against doppler
remember the missile isnt nessesarly between you and the jet who fired it if its still guided by dl you have the jet doppler to acount for too
There are plenty of tutorials on youtube how to defend against those missiles. You have to begin early your defensive manouvers to make the situation more survivable. Notching it (90 degrees angle) continuous manouvers and massive chaffing should help. If you are low altitude try to stay to the ground as low as possible + chaffing and manouvering.

DEFYN did a good video about that.

yah i m pretty confident if i see or hear it coming on my rwr i can notched it if its beyond 10km. under that it becomes more difficult especially with how much energy i lose doing it and against stuff like the mica launched at optimal angles launched at like 8km i have no reliable way of nothcing it consistently with only multpathing being somewhat consistent. once again there is way too many factors to consider ( altitude, speed and the relative angle between you and the other guy)to have a truly full proof way of defeating a fox 3

X2 Factors.

1) Missile detection.
2) Missile Speed.

Now i am not going to go into specific techniques, or fine detail like missing going "pitball" but i will keep it very simple and to the basics.

1) The missile at long range is using the aircraft's radar and at close range it's own or both. Your goal is to block or confuse the radar seekers. Extreme low altitude, small profile, mountains/cover, chaff or notching block/confuse the radars temporarily.

2) A few seconds after being fired it's booster will have run out of fuel, it has reached it's maximum self achieved speed. Your goal is to bleed the missiles speed (until it falls out of the sky). It will bleed speed by having to do repeated big turns or travel upwards... the best way is to get the missile targeting you to do several of these things in combinations. But you must remember... to achieve this you must also perform the moves... which also bleeds YOUR speed... the only difference is you have engines so you can get back your speed... the missile cannot.

One missile fired in a "good launch" may require all, most or a combination of all these to be defeated... and that's just ONE missile.

Fox 3's are deadly... it's why they are still in service.
