Is the F5-A(G) Even worth it?

Its a broken piece of USA bias right there for free. all aspect missiles, flares, good guns with a lot of ammo, broken ufo flight model, broken damage model, low infra red radiation, low fuel consumption. This thing was a monster at 10.3 and is still a monster at 11.0. You must be crazy not to get it even if you dont play Sweden.

? Have you ever played with F5? :) You only have two IR missiles. Yes, with 9L which are good, but you are at BR 11.0.

Now a little reality.

At 11.0, all aspect missiles are already quite common, nothing exceptional. R-60 on Mig 21 Lazur, bis, etc., Mig 23, SU-25, 9L on A-10, Jaguar, Python on other F-5s, or even R-73 on SU-39 which will go even lower at BR 11.3. Not to mention that you can also encounter Magic 2 with IRCCM at 12.0. Furthermore, at these BRs you are completely normal against high-quality radar missiles on Mig 23, or various F4 variants and you still only have two IR missiles. So much for the exceptionality of all aspect missiles at BR 11.0.

Furthermore, you are outpaced by most of the most commonly played aircraft, Mig 23, Mig-21, F-104, F4 various variants, etc. So if someone decides to chase you, or if they decide to escape, you have no chance.

Furthermore, although you have napalm in large quantities, you are too slow to destroy the base.

Your only positive feature is maneuverability, turn time in dog fights. But in these BRs, Dog Fights are no longer important and most supers can destroy you with missiles from a distance and use Boom and Zoom tactics against you.

Here, F5 is more useful, because players are not marked and you can better use flight properties for a surprise attack from ambush. Rockets are suitable and good for this, but you still only have two of them. Also, from the point of view of CAS, other variants have better equipment than 4x Mavarick, while this F5 only has one IR air-to-ground missile. So you won't enjoy CAS much, especially not on 10.7 where you can easily meet strong SPAA.

So the F5 is not a bad plane, but it is definitely not one of the TOP elite planes in this version of the event.

The area in the Swedish tree where you have a quality Mig 21 bis for Dog Fight that can carry up to 6x all aspect R-60M and if you need CAS, you have the Swedish AJ with 4x Mavarick. Both machines are on the same BR as the F5.

In other words, I would rather sell it. There are much better variants of the F-5 in other nations and in Sweden you can put a talisman on the Mig 21 bis with 6x R-60 and research the top tier with it.

I have every other F-5 already, the Thai one gets 9Ls too and gets Python 3s too. There's really no reason for a seasoned player to get it it seems

It might get JATO as well, so you can blast off the airfield faster that all of your teammates

Not really worth it, it's just another copy pasta F5. The only thing that's unique about it is the single air to ground missile, everything else is basically an F5C.

Yes, as already others stated its much better and effective grinder than J-35XFS and JA-37DI. Granted you have to at rank 6 with sweden to get its valid rp bonuses but since Sweden air tech tree is small, one can get up there easily compared to other tech trees.
