How the hell do I spot tanks in realistic?
I've always preferred air, but now I'm trying tanks more. I use my binos and yes I have the grass turned off, but for the life of me (or my tank) cannot spot an enemy before I myself get spotted, which is almost always too late since one shot is all it takes. I try staying in place and looking for movement, or where a teammate gets shot from, but nothing. How do people do it?

Park somewhere safe, like behind a rock or building then just scan in third person for movement. Once you see something moving zoom in on that. In addition, think about where people will be. Early on they'll drive to the caps, then to the enemy spawn or another cap. Players are frequently predictable.

If you are in a city or other environment with less than 100 meters of visual range, keep an ear out for enemy engines. Sound is quite poor currently, and friendly engines are far too loud from too far, but you can often pick out an enemy engine and get an idea of how close/where they are to you.

Map knowledge is one of the most important things in the game, most people tend to follow the same routes and camp the same spots as everyone else once you learn the patterns that generally most people follow you can then be cautious around places of higher risk and keep an eye on sniping locations far away for any movement, well at least that's how I play.

Like on a map I played the other day, I know most fast vehicles tend to go around the edge of the city in the middle of the map, I was playing an AA to get faster RP to unlock something and I ended up with 3 or so kills on lighter targets because they were all so interested in flanking the city they didn't even see me.

So it just takes time, it can be or might be frustrating to begin with but it's all a learning experience.
Its not about seeing the enemy tank so much as knowing where they're going to be and looking there. Probably 80% of my kills are on tanks I knew would be where they are before I saw them there. Try to think about the map layout and where a tank would likely be, then just check those spots. Doing so from the safety of cover also helps.
Experience. Eventually you learn to predict likely avenues of attack and keep an eye on them, as well as simply have a better target recognition to the point you'll be able to tell a bushed up M18 sticking out of the far flank on Fields of Poland.

Mostly knowing likely paths and keeping an eye on the minimap for scouts/hits revealing locations. Watch for smoke from cannon fire and engines if you have a rough idea where someone might be.
If your in High BR tanks then you could use your drone to scout out the area, or if you have high explosive available you can shoot it at the ground where you suspect someone is hiding
Bro at first it was like this for me too after 1400 hours i am ok now and find em
do you have eyes?

Pretty sure that's not how that works. Keen Vision isn't related to the invisible tanks thing, that's just one of the anti-cheat measures.

I've seen players who seriously believe that, so I'm not going to make any assumptions there.

Reading the description of keen vision I can understand how a player might think it does in fact effect sight and detection. Other wise what does keen vision do?
Using Binoculars gives a 3x to effect of keen vision.

Tb's are so full of russian and chinese esp abusers that later attempt to sell accounts on websites like g2g it's not worth playing imo if you want an actual tank exp play hell let loose

Keen Vision puts those red arrows on the edges of your screen showing the direction of enemy vehicles in direct line of sight to you that aren’t currently visible on screen. Most of the time it’ll be aircraft, but sometimes it’s a tank. It won’t highlight it once you’re looking that way, but it can help you find enemies you might otherwise not be aware of.
