"Seal Clubbing" in the M4's...
Alright so I'm almost level 86 with 10 years on and off in the game. So on and off that I'm still not top tier in anything. My highest is 7.7 in the Chinese line, 7.0 in USA, and 6.7 in USSR tech trees. I've got experience but I am in no way, shape, or form called good, or even skilled. If you look at my service record I am maybe average at best.

Yesterday after hours of frustration trying to figure out how to play in the 7.0 to 7.7 range, I went back to 4.0 for a few games. Brought out the trusty M4 variants with the M22 and M24 rounding out the light vehicles with AA, and a Hellcat for air. Pretty standard line up for USA at 4.0

I had three straight games of 5+ kills. Its the best i'd done in a long time in any stretch. I felt powerful. I had instances where I had to fight multiple enemies with hardly a scratch on me. I left carnage in my wake and it felt good. But then I realized these were probably mostly new players and I felt kinda bad. Especially after I cleared a 1 v 3 in my little M22. I'm sure they were raging mad as I was at that stage in my War Thunder career.

Anyone else feel a little guilty going back in to lower BR's and smashing low levels? It feels dirty sometimes but its a huge difference from the sweaty long range combat of higher BR's. A lot more close quarters brawling goes on at lower tiers and I miss it.

Nah, I learned very well from fighting good players at low BRs, they showed me my weak spots, good positions, and overall just how to play. The M4s are monsters, I've gotten 10+ kill games without dying in the cast hull Sherman.
There are no 'beginner' ranks ar Brs in this game. That's not how it's made.

You have every right to play whatever BR you choose, and nobody has the right to to tell you otherwise, OR judge you for that matter.

Especially with the state of top-tier nowadays making it awful to play.

I get absolutely smashed in the later BR's. I got so used to center massing everything in the M4 to having to learn a whole new skillset in the Pershing/Patton tanks. I don't have the best memory so remembering how to penetrate certain tanks at certain spots is hard. I just can't get the shot off in time before the enemy one shots me.

Its definitely a skill issue I haven't figured out how to overcome yet
No. The game is at its most fun at lower BRs. It's not the player's fault that they are attracted to fun.
Nah don't feel guilty. The game is just better balanced and less sweaty. Creates more chaos and more fun games. If you want a truly fun time at low tier Try the Swedish AA vehicles at 2.7 and 3.0. The bofors have solid penn (Specially if you flank) and get belts that fire APHE which can nuke tanks.

guilty pleasure:)

i like the swedish t34 among a few others;)

of course das panzer's are crazy good once you learned how to play the game. lmao
I play 4.0, 5.7, 6.0 , 8.3 , 9.0 and 12.0, rest of brs missing is a no go for me, however why feel guilty to play low brs?
Even having toptiers maxedout.
All we unlock playing over the years is ours, no reason to play or be stucked forever at same br.

The only BRs I play are 3.7-4.0 for the most part. I dip into 4.7 sometimes, but that's mostly it. The game was made worse with the addition of modern tech. Doesn't fit how the game plays very well and is full of balance issues. So 4.0 is really the best BR to play if you ask me. High tier just isn't worth it.

Its full of high level players, doesn't make me feel bad. I unlocked these vehicles, I payed for things like the Calliope because they're fun, I'm going to use that stuff. There's no reason high level players have to play high BRs.
