No it is absolutely not.

if you like to suffer and are willing to lease your soul for the next 3 years, absolutely
No, unfortunately it isn't. From the absolutely insane grind, awful balancing (or lack thereof), to the developer's outright twisted business practices.

Out of all the evil game publishing companies, from Ubisoft, EA, Bethesda and Illfonic, Gaijin is by far the worse.
Please dont bother

If you're not having fun with what you're doing for entertainment, you should find something else to do.

I can't give advice on how you can have fun because that's subjective. I especially don't advocate for grinding War Thunder because the grind is inherently designed to get you to spend money on the game.

If you're not having fun figuring out how to operate your vehicles, learning mechanics of the game, learning how opposition vehicles work etc. then this game is not for you.

So players saying no all refer to the "grind" However War Thunder does not actually encourage the grind. To see for yourself Click your player name/achievements/challenges and the nation you are playing. These are what War Thunder wants players to be doing. You can see from the number of missions you are required to win with a specific vehicle that War Thunder is not rushing you to "grind" but if you do these challenges you will acquire all the new vehicles you want. People do have a point if the recommend premium account but only if you play every day. Casual/once in a while players are not grinding to begin with so they can just relax and fight battles. War Thunder first and foremost is merely a battle generator.
No matter how many hours you put into the game you will never finally achieve ultimate victory since there is none to be had. It is simply a battle generator. If you don't want to just fight battles War Thunder is a strange choice of game to play.
The main issue is players do not want to fight battles in certain vehicles they have the ones they want in mind and this is the root cause of the grind. War Thunder has a progression that many players want to avoid. The origin of all the "you have to pay"
The game is simple if you begin at tier I and complete the tier I challenges before going to tier II. Suspend expectations of rapid advancement and just fight battles and learn before trying to be a higher tier pro.
Also look at the Gaijin.net achievements. By the time you win 100 battles at tier I you will have the vehicles you need to move to tier II's 100 battles and so on.

It's a free to play game.

Determining worth and enjoyment is only something you can do.

AGREE!
If you find this type of vehicle game appealing, then go ahead. Just know that you get to rank III-IV in a reasonable amount of time and then it gets exponentialy worse.

That means, if you are ok with playing early or even late ww2 stuff go ahead. If you want to drive Abrams/Leopard and such, don't even bother, it takes hunderds of hours maybe thousands to reach that point.

lose, not lease. leasing implies that your soul is still yours and will be returned to you sometime. when you play war thunder, the snail feeds off your soul, and it is no longer yours.
it's good , if you like me have a thing for combat Vehicles this is the best we can get while sitting in our homes.

The devs have some questionable practices sadly like putting premium vehicles up in br and making them at times pretty useless and forgetting about them , but i like the game and it's my most played game i believe on steam.

It's fine if you like WW2 vehicles, after that there is no point to keep on - neither when it comes to the grind nor to gameplay
i would say over 98% of respondents here regardless of what they tell you to do play it themselves.
