Aim120 It's garbage after update Storm Warning.
Aim120 It's garbage after update Storm Warning.
As I have observed by playing F16C and F15C and F15E
for many days and many matches and watching replays, I feel that Aim120 is getting worse or nerfed. I feel that it is not fun to play anymore. Instead of shooting in the middle range, I have to shoot in the close range. And it eats more decoys and sometimes misses the target after shooting for only 2 seconds without decoys. I feel that this game is ♥♥♥♥.

Aim120 is still by far the best missile in the game, with fox 3s getting actually harder to dodge over the last few updates.

Most likely people just got better at dodging fox 3s while OP is just a one trick pony.

What are the chances he is your average F4S player that bombs his way into top tier never actually learning the game.

The best???? I am sorry but thats completely wrong lol. Current meta is MICA-EM, missile which will always find you lovely bottom. That broken thing can come for you even behind two corners of obstacles (f.e. rocky pillars map in the long canyon) Broken to hell. Then its one russian missile which despite being radar, doesnt care about you hugging terrain or notching.
And then is the AIM120.
To be honest, I had more fun with aim120A or fakours than aim120B. It often misses even straight flying target, extremely often loses locks, cannot hit flying (and I do not mean hovering but actually moving) helicopters and sometimes have complete brainfart and just goes haywire for no reason + datalink seems to dont work.

aim120a and aim120b are identical
and no it's still the best in the game by far (it wasn't changed in the update) and everything else besides aim120 is more or less performs similar to each other

You must be having something too good for your health if you think current meta is MICA. It was a just good missile but back then only M2K had it so one didnt see them often. But with the intruduction of the Rafale, everyone and their mother using MICA and its good at close range, other than 10km and with some good notching and chaff it becomes pretty much useless. AMRAAM is still the meta and will be.
To the OP, try to use the AMRAAM with TWS mode.

Tbh mica is just the same as the R77 every one was complaining when ARH were released. A missile that has very limited range compared to the AIM120.

Just an example for 1vs1 fight Rafale (enemy) vs Eurofighter(Me)

Both takeoff, rafale wants to save himself directly in multipathing and stay low, i climb to like 9km and reach in the thin Air like 1850 km/h to launch my missiles.
When you get in range i surpress you with 1 or 2 Aim so that you stay in your multipathing or better notch you will not get your missiles in good f-pole.

The point when i be directly over you is your death because then comes the dive with the AIM9.

Mica are not the meta missile. Mica are good but they are ONLY good at close range, they are pretty useless on longer range.

Aim120 easily is the best because it forces the entire enemy team to play defensive early on giving your team better map control. It is also effective at every range giving you more room in a fight.

Fakour 90 is another missile which is insanely strong, it doesnt maneuver as much as other missile but the absolute insane speed making it the fastest missile in the game makes it the best BVR missile in the game.

If you are doing dogfights in top tier all the time you are playing top tier wrong. Spamraams are the best missiles currently and its a 100% skill issue on your side.

Not even close.

All US planes, that alone explains a lot of why you find the best missile in the game garbage, it only starts to have competition at closer ranges

No, the MICA and the Derby were both buffed quite a bit. The AIM-120 fell behind the MICA, that's a fact, not subjective.

AIM-120 fell behind MICA in terms of close range, otherwise AIM-120 is still on the top.

to be honest this post is not lying, havent died to a single amraams in 20 games and most of my deaths were because of MICA's or IR missiles and also i've been missing quite a lot of amraams with the eurofighter for some reason.
major skill issue if you can get kills with f15e. that thing is busted if you have a braincell or two. you always get lookdown because your saturn v engines send you to the moon. learn to play

As I said, I have played many games and observed at various firing ranges, both below 15-6km, the Aim120 has more obvious off-target symptoms than other missiles and clearly eats more decoys. Even though sometimes the enemy aircraft does not release decoys, it still misses the target suspiciously. I think the developer should have changed some codes of the missile or radar, not to mention the BVM or TWS firing range, it also works very poorly. And other factors, the speed of Mach 2, the altitude of 9000 meters, which will make the missile have a longer firing range and be faster, but it doesn't help at all.

Are they notching / multipathing / cranking ?
