That being said japanese twin engine fighters are actually pretty damm good most of the times and usually have favorable Brs unlike single engine fighters (not all of them mind you i find Ki-44 very nasty at its br).
But low tier aircraft seem pretty good. The Props, at least, seem better than my Swedish planes.
In terms of decent low tier japanese tanks they begin around 2.0-2.7. before that there are some bright exceptions but its mostly rough start.
The worst slogs were spading Ki-49 bombers (although, this did make me better at hitting ground targets with front / rear turrets) , and spading the Zeroes felt grindy for a while, although this did increase my situational awareness and the niche became fun.
there were a lot of very fun planes in the lineup. early bombers are a riot in arcade, and cool to fly out in the other modes. Interceptors with big guns. The Ki-61 was a good plane for me.
there's too many good planes to ignore Japan IMO
I just spaded the first N1K1, and that was a little rough due to low ammo and overall meh until the engine upgrades
If you like WW2 planes eventually you will heed the call of the Emperor
NO
A6M5 (all variants) OP
Also just play arcade in japan and turn fight literally everyone its basically impossible to die
I was spawncamping and killed 9 players in the A6M5 hei with one life and thats not a one off, thats a common statistic
and the Ki-61 / Ki-100 is supreme
Balancing is done by average performance, so what do you think happens to ‘minor’ nations not played by a whole lot of people?
The minority of extremely good players have a disproportionately large affect on the overall average, because there aren’t thousands of newbies screwing them up like happens with more popular nations and vehicles like German tigers
So once they skew the average performance metrics enough the vehicles that appear to be over-performing are put up in BR
And once that happens a lot of the less skilled players having a bad time give up
So when the less skilled players are driven away and the more skilled players who were responsible for the vehicle being put up in the first place now form an even higher percentage of that vehicles players. What do you think happens when they keep performing well
Japans aircraft in particular are notorious for this, not only because of a minority of good players who inflated their performance, but also being propped up by exceptionally bad newbies playing other nations that kept trying to turn fight against them, even in aircraft that wildly outperform them if they only flew them correctly
Oh yeah, can anyone explain the purpose of the N1Ks? They look cool and were historically good, but I simply see no reason to fly them over the Ki-84s.
