Is it quicker to crash rearm or properly land?
Lets say your plane is A okay you just want to get a big ol bomb back or something is it faster to crash land or use landing gear and properly land?

doing a controlled crash landing or belly landing will damage your plane and increase your overall repair time so realistically your better off landing normally.

not unless you are good. it can be real quicker.

if repair takes as long as rearm then crash without severe damage ist faster, if the plane has a high landing speed

if your crew skills are high enough then belly land is usually faster.
Uh... No thanks Dec 8, 2024 @ 7:54am
Technically speaking belly landing is the fastest, the added drag ans friction slow your aircraft down way faster than a regular landing - if done in a controlled manner repair time is barely affected by it

If you have a Crew maxed out (Level 75) the difference between a belly landing/rearm and a proper landing with the undercarriage lowered is 2 seconds - not including the time needed for a proper landing at correct speed, glide path etc. This is for prop planes, no clue about jets.

It's obvious I always do belly landings...

i have maxed repair skill so i always do belly landings except when i'm flying some german planes with cockpit lower than the engines which for some reason kills the pilot when belly landing
10~13 sec of repair/rearm which is way faster than doing a proper landing just for a 10 sec rearm

why would you crash. yes it is faster sometimes but seems like a noob thing to do. i even properly land in seaplane Zero because in AB you can take off again i have no idea why.

Depends on the plane.
For example Su-25s don't have drag chutes and the brake system is terrible. Because it's armored it is safe and faster to belly land to rearm when playing it in ground RB.
For a delicate and fragile plane though I would not recommend it.

belly landing with any plane that can do it safely

if you do a belly landing you should not be repaired but just crashed and out of that plane . landing is with gear and no belly landing

Okay so when a real military plane has its landing gear break for some reason, it should just explode on contact with the floor? That's not how things work lol
Belly landing is a real method of landing irl, albeit used mostly got emergency landings
In war thunder it is just the fastest method of landing and re arming

It's not an actual crash, it's a belly landing, which actually slows your plane way faster than lining up for a real landing and using your spongy brakes. Almost every time the repair is the exact length of the rearm, so you can save time by doing this.
RXDimA Dec 9, 2024 @ 2:36pm
If you manage to land with no damage at all, then you can skip rearm/repair timer by leaving the plane and reentering it. It is possible to belly land with no damage if you are a jet.
At max repair crew level it takes 10 seconds to repair+rearm, so it doesn't really matter how you land.
