Add playable aircraft carriers
I don't care what anybody says, I want to have an aircraft carrier in the tech tree.

i think its coming, all the audio files are in the game already for Carrier commands, i dont think this year, as this year its submarines, but maybe in next year or 2, we will see them, my hope is they will play similar to Warships old RTS style carriers.

And if they do add playable aircraft carriers, how far will it go? Will we get a Gerald R. Ford class?

considering they dont have any modern warships, Ford would be the unlikeliest addition. Most likely, they will add older WW2 carriers (wooden flattops). They will mesh better with the current naval trees.

Unfortunately, a community manager confirmed it was in their near future plans on the forums in a Q&A :

''Q: Submarines were tested some years ago. Are there any plans to add playable Submarines to naval battles, or in some form to the game?''

''A: Yes, we have plans for playable submarines, but no further details on this yet.''

They could work in their own mode, Like that Battle of the Atlantic event that tested them which we had.

I worry they would completely ruin naval if implemented into the current format of AB/RB battles though. There is simply no viable counter play to them in such battles.

AC would only make sense as AI controlled Spawnpoints / Objectives.

they could work . Let say player as AC could spawn planes . you can bomb targets as cas , torpedo ships , fight other players or just scout
but for this maps have to be bigger as atm you will be killed by BB on spawn

But then you wouldn't really play as an AC. You would just be AFK moving around not able to do anything until you get enough Points to spawn into something else; might as well have Carriers be CPU controlled and you can spawn or land on them for repairs. Controlling them yourself would be like the most boring experience ever and how would you even get Points to spawn into Air with it? And if you used up your Air Line Up just do nothing but mindlessy move around? And if you are in Air the AC would just stand still open for the taking like in Arcade when you get enough Air Points to jump into an Plane?

Don't see how they would be in any way interesting to play and for the existing BRs / Era existing in the Game for Naval theres only the USA, Japan, UK and France who would have Carriers.

Yeah and you should be given the option to control the entire air squadron as well. And I think the planes perhaps should be limited based on that carrier's historical aircraft usage?
AC stands for Armored Cruiser. The designation for Aircraft carriers is CV
CV-fleet carrier
CVL light carrier
CVE escort carrier.

Exactly what would a CV player do in the game? Getting within anything resembling effective range of surface vessels would be suicidal.

And hows that supposed to work and be balanced?

And that doesn't even make sense; play an Carrier just to not play it? Then might as well have it be CPU controlled and be able to spawn/land on it. Instead of having it just stand afk around while you are playing Air and why should you be able to spawn&control multiple Planes +

Could have it that you could order the aircraft around from a RTS esc view like World of Warships originally had, but with the additional option of being able to take direct control of the lead aircraft of the flight at will like you can swap between your ship and floatplane. (AI planes would just follow your lead, and you'd be warned if your ship was under attack)
As for if they run out of planes, make it that you can resupply on them, but make it take a reasonably long time so that it's actually painful to lose them.
Currently in higher tier naval air is kinda useless due to how powerful ship AA is, so having actual aircraft flights/wings would actually balance things out a bit more, and give more things for AA to shoot at.
Would be really fun for naval enduring confrontation too.
