And RWRs don't really work (FOR SOME REASON) when you're turning. if you fly in a straight line the RWR will work and tell you about track and launch warnings (if it's good enough)
Hope this helps.
The RWR on some aircraft have blind spots.
And you're describing the blind spots. I'm fully aware of all the different spots for most of aircrafts, I'm playing exactly the same as I have been.
What I don't understand is your RWR not detecting signals if you turn just a tiny bit, if you pull negative G's you get rwr ping, you turn a bit more it stops.
It's very clearly not working when turning no matter what area of the aircraft is facing the incoming radar. it makes no sense realistically speaking. I got a feeling it has to do with the capabilities of the game engine.
I've made reports there and they get ignored, because the bug moderators are incompetent fools. besides, this is issue that almost any knowledgeable wt player knows about. It's not ever gonna get fixed unless there's a massive outcry from the community, as that's the only thing gaijin hears, because it threatens their bottom line
