TTD at 10.3 but FV4030/3 at 10.0
why are you so out of touch with your tech tree gaijin?

TTD doesn't even have a coax, 105mm (you can cope about DM63 but it will never one shot a soviet tank however you pen it), more or less same mobility and armor and fv4030 having a faster reload too.

yeah just another "small" oversight that will take maybe 2-3 major updates to fix

TTD has thermals, accelerates significantly faster (at least forwards) and drives a lot more like a Leopard than a Challenger, has ~50mm more pen at 60 degrees (the actual important number) so it's easier to penetrate the edges of weakspots/more area on a tank is weak to it, has surprisingly similar turret armour and a tougher hull, and doesn't suffer from quite as terrible ammo positions (most hull penetrations in a Challenger will instantly kill because the charges are strewn about the hull, the TTD at least has blowout panels in a turret rack)

Overall, it's a bit better in most aspects, especially ones that are more important in War Thunder (namely mobility being better enough it's going to make a difference in games, and having thermals)

Gen 1 thermals > no thermals at all, by a lot. Having them makes it much easier to spot tanks, especially well camouflaged, stationary tanks at longer distances.

The round doesn't necessarily need to do more damage, as long as it's capable of crippling a tank and expands the penetrable areas where you can cripple a tank (especially at angles against the sides of tanks, or side turret shots where armour wraps around), it's not a huge advantage but it is an advantage, particularly against Russian tanks since they struggle to disengage from fights.

You know you can turn them off right?

You can use them to spot a target, then switch them off to aim, having found your target much faster than using purely visual sights

The TDD does have a good power to weight ratio and is fairly mobile.
