Best BR for starting Realistic Battles (Ground forces)?
I have a ton of experience in Arcade mode, but only ever played a few rounds of RB and SB. I want to finally branch out into realistic battle on ground forces. I have access to all Tiers, what is the best way to learn to play it as a newbie? Should I start right from the beginning, or is there a beginner friendly BR that will teach me better?

Play it from first BR to at least try how much different it is. Then continue further and further. There is so many people what jump into the highest possible BR from Arcade Battles into Realistic Battles without deeper knowledge about realistic mode.

My suggestion is to check how tanks works in realistic battle in Test Drive. Pick your tanks what are your favorite and try them in test drive to check how to use it. BR does not matter, but before that you should do simple research how to use tank in RB.

1) Range finder - Majority of people are not using it because they live in the world where only modern tanks have it. Range finder is crucial for RB so you will not be forced to just guess. It is possible if you work with maps properly and check what distance is every block on minimap and if you know maps really good you can just pre-aim to the place.

2) Usage of elevation - Replace zoom while being in sniper mode by having possiblity to elevate your cannon so you will not have to aim to the air and just elevate your cannon to the specific distance. Many tanks have different elevation values. For example I have on my T-72A 100m and then immidietly 500m. Which affect your aiming. So you have to work with it. Some of them have very sensitive options but you have to get use to it.

3) Effectivity of movement - Some tanks are really slow in RB mode so be prepared that RB mode will give you hell for it, at lečast at the beggining.
Lower tiers (below 11.0 or so) are good for noobs. You basically get to play the game in slow motion, people are just free targets. Start there build your confidence and then when you feel like you're ready, go to top tier, play with the real vehicles.

No hate to this guy but... Top tier is Noob territory, Top tier is point and click, I find myself just Mindlessly killing people with ease as they have no idea how to play the game (They either never did or forgot how to do so), Find the BR you enjoy most and stick to it, Top tier for me Is boring, The tanks do all the work and all i have to do is click, It Requires Pretty much no skill to get a few kills (You can Destroy top tier if you are good though, Don't get me wrong and you can tell who can actually play the game well) Typically Top tier is 1-3 Good (Non useless teammates) and the rest are...

I find 7.7 and below most enjoyable, You can actually Use your Tanks armour to deflect shots , See shells get stuck into your Hull or Turret, You Have to play Tactical if you know something has more Armour that you (So not just point and click) You typically find More Higher level Players in the lower tiers also, Seal clubbing in a way (Dropping down tiers to beat on the "Helpless" lol), But it can still be great fun even with the higher levels, Typically they make it more fun (For me at least).

I've been playing Since 2013, Possibly Earlier (Steam lies about playtime and those who have played the game a while know the game wasn't on steam for a while), Low tier is Better Majority of the time, Top tier is just fun because they are the most modern tanks in the game, They typically remove any Aspect of skill and Need of thought just because of the tech. One Russian Vehicle tells you when you are being looked at...

In summary, Top tier wont really help you as much as the lower tiers to learn the game, It will help you learn Maps and good spots to sit in but Typically not Armour weak spots as you can just shoot at the Tracks or lower plate and kill stuff 99% of the time,
Play the game, You WILL die A lot but Enjoy it That's what makes the game fun, Learning the game and surviving Fights Because you Angled Properly or Shot the correct spot is what it's all about. Trial and Error. If you want to have Fun in the game Learn the Old Tanks, typically 7.7 and below and go kill some 11.0 Noobs, Nothing funnier than watching a T72 Die to a 5.0

I say start no higher than 3.0, maybe even lower. Don't jump to modern, its not fun or going to teach good habits.

Start from the beginning, you need to re learn the maps entirely, new strategies open up, vehicles that are non viable in arcade have merit in realistic. Tank Destroyers and Light tanks are FAR more deadly and effective when they dont have a name plate over their head.

First, I'd recommend picking a BR and playing just that BR for a long while. This helps you really learn the vehicles so you can stop trying to learn them and focus more on tactics. If you keep moving around in BR, you'll constantly have to learn new vehicles both enemy and your own, and this distracts from learning those tactics.

Personally, I'd argue that 3.7-4.0 is where the game is at its best. Play that. Armor matters there, many tanks let you bounce things if you can learn to work the armor. Things are quite well balanced and fun there. Basically everything you can play can kill anything you can face. You also face a decent balance of experienced players you can learn from as well as new players that you can test things on.
