While nothing is much different concerning the challenges or prizes one major change that will impact progress is bots no longer count as players. Just fought a battle with 4 kills and 3 assists. The challenge is 250 players kills or assists. Formally I would have 7 now but only 2 kills and 1 assist were players so I am at 3. You need 13 per day to finish challenge before it expires. At this rate it is more then 83 missions. They had changed the bots to count as players for daily tasks and challenges (but not wagers) Now they are back to not counting.
When you play battles against teams composed mostly of bots the change is significant.
Yeah its definitly not worth the time tbh

What gave you the impression they did?

They care about one thing: money.
The new pass is more interesting than the last season imo, which was the worst one yet. At-least the T-44 in this one is a bit different and we have a chance to get the Tandem-MAI, which hasn't been available in like 7 years.

next battle 1 kill 3 assists only 1 counted toward challenge. So rather then 11 toward challenge as in previous Battle Pass I only have 4. It would be different if I could tell bots from players. I am often even fighting bots in higher tier/BR ships then my own and they don't count toward challenge.

Next battle 1 kill 2 assists only 1 counted.

Next battle 5 kills 2 assists 0 counted.

Next battle 6 kills 1 assist 0 counted. Finished both my easy/medium daily tasks. 5 battles
17 kills 11 assists of which 5 have counted toward challenge. Much different from past Battle Pass.

Next battle 3 kills 1 assist 2 counted (Yahoo) after 6 battles 20 kills 12 assists and have 7 toward the challenge

Next battle just 1 assist but it counted. 3.5 hours to get 8/250

Simple fix.... remove the bots or make them count again.

Next battle 2 kills 1 assist 0 counted

Next battle 10 kills 6 assists. 7 counted so I reached my quota for the day (20 days to get 250 kills/assists = 13 per day) I now have 15 after 9 missions (5 hours)
32 kills 20 assists)

Here is why Bots should either count or be removed. Just played battle 3 players per team rest bots. 11 kills 0 assists none counted toward challenge.
Since challenge began 43 kills 23 assists current total for challenge 250 kills/assists I have 17

True dude.

Since in the past bots did count toward player kill/assist I just wonder what changed. I didn't get the memo. Of course I can still get the 250 kill/assist in 20 days it just means extra hours when I could be sleeping or playing Total War

Maybe because the free prize is a naval vessel they want to make it harder for naval players who already play and easier for other players who might become enticed to play naval when they unlock the boat? I haven't checked out the challenges yet but I assume it's possible and faster to complete it in ground or air matches.

Also it could be that proportionally naval players were making more progress than other players because there are so few of them per match and thus have less competition so gaijin nerfed their ability to complete challenges sort of like they nerfed the rewards for bombers so people stopped grinding trees with them in SIM?

Most recent battle 2 players per team with 14 bots each team. 5 kills 3 assists 1 counted toward challenge. Now have 25 that count. So I will complete the challenge but more then likely I will finish this challenge after I finish the one that starts on April 30th because that challenge is the very simple "play 35 missions as USSR" So I will get the final kills/assists as USSR
Players doing this 250 kill/assist challenge who play ground are most likely ahead of players using naval because fewer bots in ground and air.

They most likely stopped bots counting towards BP missions because in naval battles it was far too easy to farm them as most of the time there are far more bots on each team than actual players...

Yeah if I had to guess it is an issue of how quickly naval players can grind challenges in proportion to players in other modes.

That is exactly the issue. When there are only 2 players per team the max kills/assist you can get is 6 provided the enemy players spawn 3 times. But those 14 bots will cap points uncap points you take shoot down your aircraft and still kill you with guns but not count toward the challenge.
