Because hit rate has something to do with it. Yea I don't understand their sense of logic there. Since when has hit rate mattered in WT?

My hit rate with my tank isn't 100% should I not even try? What an insane nonissue

Just look at the manual guided missiles and how poorly they do, it's not that great of a reason if that is the logic being presented. Hell a lot of the artillery and guns on ships had incredibly poor hit to miss ratios and that doesn't effect them. Not only that but the game is designed specifically to ignore such flaws with vehicles and weapons, if a missile is buggy and often misfires or something then it won't do that in game, if a round is prone to exploding accidentally or misfiring, it doesn't do that in game. An engine over heats or can achieve it's potential on paper, that doesn't matter in game. The success rate at which a vehicle and it's weaponry works as intended is a moot point in war thunder, hell some stuff in game never even got the chance to drive, fly or fire in real life so their success can't even be measured only assumed.

Hi, in case you missed it; we mentioned in the news the reason:

Developers note: We would like to note that ARMs (Anti-Radiation Missile) of the period reflected in the event were not as effective in many cases compared to their more modern counterparts. In some situations, they would simply not hit their intended targets without any mistakes from the pilot, and it would not be very clear to the player as to why the missile has missed. For this event, the combination of early SAMs vs aircraft with unguided weaponry works well and provides counteracting gameplay, so ARMs won’t be featured in it.

We understand many of you wish to see ARM weaponry, and it is part of our longer term considerations, particularly in the modern gameplay era, however it is still too early to go into further detail about this right now. So stay tuned!

Still doesn’t explain why Hit Rate matters

As i pointed out IRL hit rates didnt stop early AIMs from getting added, AIM-9B for example

Reminds me of the AIM-4, it only did poorly in Vietnam because it was not made for the Phantom, if it was used on an F-102 or F-106 the hit rate would be much higher

hi, in case you missed it; there were like 5 messages before yours saying that you've added a ton of ♥♥♥♥ missiles that weren't good IRL either. Not to mention that you add ♥♥♥♥ garbage prototypes to the game that haven't even seen action. Because of how bad they turned out to be. Yet you add them and often ask real money for them.

So try again genius. Just be careful and don't miss anything again

Mag is just copy and pasting the reason, they didn't make the executive decision for it to be this way.
