Radar missiles broken?

How are people getting kills with radar missiles? I fire radar missiles and they never hit like wtf is wrong with them? Are they not fire and forget?

most radar missiles in game require you to keep active radar lock on the target till you hit it. (thats why planes with PD radar usually can hit you while bad radar makes it much harder)

which missile on which plane? that would be very helpful since theres a lot of factors such as what kunic said, but also some of the missiles themselves have different stats that affect performance

The Fox-3's are fire and forget depending on distance, Fox-1's are not

AIM-7's for instance are not fire and forget but AIM-120's are

That's what I do. I even tested it in test drive, and missiles still didn't my targets.

Would you mind making a video? It's worth noting that two circles is ideal before you launch the missile.

It'd be extremely helpful if you actually told us what plane & missiles you were using.

So on that thing, the 530 and 530F's are SARH (Semi Active Radar Homing) missiles. Your radar is what is guiding the missile to the target, so you need to maintain that lock until impact.

The 'fire and forget' radar missiles (ARH - Active Radar Homing) are found at like 13.0-14.0. Your mirage does not have those.

Christ, it's one of the least performing missile. Only reliable way to kill in Super Matra 530F is when they're high 1000KM or higher altitude and either they're slower than you or going against your direction while you are locked.

Radar missiles are the worst missiles I've ever seen. I have a better chance using AIM-9Bs in 13.0.
