TWS is ideal for longer distances, when you have enough time to choose suitable targets and the missiles do not require a lock, as mentioned by Fakur, so this mode is most often used with Fox 3 missiles, but it can be used for Fox 1 class where you have to lock the target hard lock.
Personally, I prefer the ACM mode which is designed for combat within visual range, simply a shorter fight up to a distance of about 10 kilometers. With Fox 1 class missiles, most of the time you fight at short distances up to 10 km. ACM has the advantage that you can choose the target yourself and do not have to think about it and manually switch it as in the case of TWS when this mode may not immediately lock the target you requested. ACM will lock the aircraft you are aiming at in its height a little. You can also cancel it very quickly and lock on to a target again, or a new target. Therefore, it is ideal in terms of speed and efficiency for shorter battles compared to TWS or SRC mode.
In both cases, you have the option of PD, ACM PD, TWS PD and standard ACM, TWS mode. PD is designed for more effective locking on targets that are flying directly towards you, but may not be as effective on targets that are flying sideways or away from you. In that case, the standard ACM mode is sometimes better. It is then up to you to correctly identify the target, its flight path and direction.
With Fox 1 missiles, you have the option of playing either from a height or from a low flight.
Playing from a height guarantees more effective missile hits, since the missile has a better view of the target and energy since it is flying downwards. But at the same time, this style also requires more experience from the player because at high altitude you are an easy target for other players and their radar missiles.
Playing from a low altitude guarantees better cover against enemies, but the missiles also have lower efficiency due to terrain, speed, etc.
Anyway, at the current BR where IRIAF is 13.0 and the crazy matchmaking that very easily buys you into the top tier 13.7-14.0 where there are incomparably better planes with better weapons than yours, I do not recommend playing from a high altitude unless you unlock the Fakur missiles.
In general, there are a few basic tips for the Fox 1 missiles, if possible, try to fly as fast as possible because you give the missile more energy the more effective it becomes. Try to ideally choose targets at a higher altitude up to 10 km. Since you have to maintain a hard lock until the hit, or. to homing the missile, choose ideal single targets, or targets that are fighting with another teammate. Unless you have an ESO-level crew, don't get into dog fights too much. Attack from ambush.
Tactics still depend on the matchmaking and BR you are at. Otherwise you will play against top tier and aircraft F-15, SU-27, Gripen, Rafale, Eurofighter and otherwise against lower tier aircraft F-4, Mig-21, or early versions of F-16, Mig-29 at BR 12.7-12.3.
