Spotting changes
So I am wondering if gaijin changed the spotting system server side for players being able to "see" each other. Basically if they changed the system to try to mess with cheaters only to have over done it and now have screwed over tanks on longer range maps and completely screwed over planes and heli's.

I like to play CAP after I lose my first or second tank at top tier for example but I am having a really hard time playing CAP after the update because I can't see enemy planes and even heli's stop rendering at about 2km out and I am not sure why, hell some of my death cams show planes that are physically 2-4km away but the model is invisible as if the server doesn't think I should be able to see them.

I just died in a head on with an F16 last match whom was on my radar and it said he was directly in front of me but my radar wouldn't lock him nor would my IR and the radar even pinged him as turning around to face me and then after about 10-15 seconds I exploded, no missile launch warning, no trail of smoke, and no sign of the F16 till he flew past my plane in the death cam. I mean the situation seems to be going well for CAS right now but CAP is an absolute ♥♥♥♥ show and I am seeing a lot of CAP planes slamming into enemy CAP planes in the kill feed or trading which I assume means they can't see each other or launch missiles until they are damn near knife fighting range with each other and this seems to hold true with most of my air to air kills in ground RB after the patch too. Was this an intentional change? I can't really assume it's a server issue seeing as it has been happening all week and appears to be affecting others in my matches and my ping is well below 100 as per usual so I don't get why this would be happening outside of a spotting modification to try and impact cheaters.

Honestly, I noticed sometimes that a tank would disappear in a distance but it feels more like a bug than anything. Spotting through terrain and buildings still works. The upadte was severly undercooked tho so I would blame that until proved otherwise.

They did change something regarding spotting and rendering distances, we just had a bug where >10km vehicles would not render at all. Of course we can't see the server code, so we don't know if it's only a visual thing or the anti-cheat got changed. I'd bet on the second, though.

The parameters are based on Keen vision skills, and where the player is looking.
Detection are the render values, identification is the UI info. (useless in RB)

That said, its air, I would know jack **** about bugs cropping up in the updates.
But i really doubt its a keen vision failure. It can be a bug with the vehicle itself, modifiers, or other assets showing up as Destroyed client side, but not server side(in tanks).
or the assets themselves not being counted as objects, merely visual obstructions to the player, not effecting keen vision sight line.

This is not a bug, this is a system as described by the author of the topic, at a distance of 300m the tank is practically inaudible or not at all, the sound appears immediately after it is marked by a machine gun or reconnaissance of a light tank.

If you don't believe me, then take 2 friends and go to custom

There are a lot of videos on YouTube testing this system from different regions, I mean American, European and Russian streamers.


The problem is the same for everyone, but no one will solve it
