and its written (and called) schräge musik.
Basically, it's a thing called Schräge Musik. It was developed by the Germans to combat the B-17s, 24s, 26s, Wellingtons, Lancasters, and various other bombers that were flying bombing raids in German territory. The goal was to put yourself under the enemy plane (by about a quater of a mile or less) and let loose the hell of the cannons on their underbellies. It is so named because of the "music" it makes when firing. The Germans realized this and did experiments to make the "music" more audible and clearer.
