Do British Planes Suck?

In my opinion British planes suck. British planes are offen out gunned because is most t1-t3 British fighter you only have 8x 7.7mm with a mass burst per second of 1.21kg, or u get 4x 7.7 and 2x 20mm. with a mass burst per second of 2.20-2.60kg. With US planes you at least have 6x 12.7mm (50.cals)(accept the wildcat naval fighter) with a mass burst per second of 3.21kg per second.

So why are British planes so crap in terms of fire power?

I'll assume you haven't played as the Mosquito yet.
British planes (like all planes) have a desired way to be flown. While I don't know what it is, I do know that gun convergance is very, very important since 7.7mm holes all over a plane are far less effective than 8x as many holes all at one point. British planes are, by their design, more succeptable to pilot kills and catching fire.

The British heavy fighter are good for fire power but that's about it. But compared to other countries British is my least fav (next to japan)

So I guess the Spitfire Vc with 4 Hispano Mk II's isnt enough firepower for you? or the Mustang/Typhoon mk1b, or the Beaufighter with 4 hispanos etc etc etc.

I wouldn't put so much emphasis on burst mass.

If you attack at your convergence range, with nearly any British aircraft, if you get a solid shot, whatever you are firing at is most likely going to fall apart.

The "shotgun" type like the Huricanes and the Spitfires 1 and 2A require a close convergence (I sugguest a maximum of 400 m. 300 is best imho ! They are outstanding if you get a direct hit on at these ranges.

Haven't flown the really high tier aircraft but I don't know how anyone can claim the early British planes are undergunned.

Hurricanes have 8 ( or 12 for mk2) MGs, Spitfires have 8 aswell, compare to the Hurricane most other aircraft of the same tier are undergunned if anything.

I've done decently with all nations but Tier I/II British just seemed the most consistent for me.

At tier 1, the Mk I hurricane has obscene firepower. At tier 2, their firepower is probably the best after the airacobra and Ki-45. Tier 3 I understand the argument, but they still have a few more 4 cannon fighters unlocked there. The later spits still using .30 cals is somewhat annoying but they make up for having other aircraft with spectacular firepower. And the Beau VIc is still deadly (not useful, DEADLY) at tier 4, let alone tier 2.

Brits are very easy to fly & got the best cannons (AB) in the game.
Also they get very decent planes in all tiers.

British are probably the best nation in tier2. If you think british planes sucks try playing germans. Im trying to get that awesome fw190, and playing RB yesterday made me rage quit. Their t2 fighers have like 2 mgs and 1 cannon at best, and they behave VERY weird if you do hard turns (mouse).

Imo I actually prefer German planes. British planes are too easily hit for me.

I think they do, I all of them easy preys against Germans or Russians I agree with Jeercrul about that. Atleast they have high fire power and good climb rate.

british tier 1-2: relatively weak in firepower at lower tiers, but one of the best turning rates, rest meh.
russian tier 1-2: op-planes; fast climbing, fast turning, good armour, great firepower
german: tier 1-2: okay planes, bad at dogfighting, but fast and good for BnZ, weak armour, meh firepower
us tier 1-2: also bad at dogfighting, but fast and good for BnZ, good armour, meh firepower
japan: paper planes (no armour at all), weakest firepower, meh climbing/speed, good turning rates

the british are in low tier AB the second best choice to win a battle with fighters, but russia is absolutely insane and #1, us and germans are playable at all and japan sucks.

What are you talking about ? As others said the Hurricanes have obscene firepower for Tier 1, if anything they fall off later as cannons become more common.
