VR broken on new "Hornet's Sting" update.
I was running the game and enjoying VR when servers suddenly shut down. They dropped the update! I was super excited but that was before... and this is now. It only launches to a black screen and has for the last 12 hours. I put a ticket in with the developers and made it well known to them in the Major Update "Feedback" but still nothing is done 12 hours later.... I really hope to see a fix for this issue as VR is by far the best way to play the game but I can only hope... Anyone else having this issue?

Hi everyone, we're aware of VR issues caused by the update, we're looking into them now.

As a temporary solution, you can either use Dx11, or you can enable VR from the game (first run in flatscreen, then enabled VR in the settings).

Apologies for the issues here :( you can view the open report, our QA team has responded:

I am also having this issue, just booted the game up in my VR headset and just a black screen....
Although not completely black screen, it is however unwatchable as it is... Will check nvidia's drivers and report back.
Not having this issue. VR seems to work fine for me.

I'm in game now. Works fine.
yup vr is dead for me. updated my GPU drivers, verified files, and restarted everything. if you go into the game normally then activate VR mode the headset will track but you will not get any visuals in the headset. hopefully it will get fixed fast. worked just fine before the update.

As it happens, re driver update, i had the previous version which worked better than the current one, that causes the fatal error black screen. But even on the previous one i would not recommend as my eyes hurt watching it.

I would imagine the G2 uses a different Runtime XR or different driver base to communicate with the game that was not disrupted by the update. It isn't like the game "crashes" for me when I launch but more seems like the VR hook is disrupted or not being properly fed. The visual information isnt being rendered but the game does initialize.

Still using WMR/OpenXR for info.

Just finished a session and VR appears to work for me. Ironic seeing how MS killed WMR.

I am definitely disappointed to see that windows isnt supporting openxr and wmr anymore but i've already heard many people recommend just using virtual desktop allegedly it gives a large performance boost

Guys, launch the game without vr, but in your vr headset, then enable vr in the options without restarting, just applying. Not optimal, but this is how I was able to fly air sim today on my quest with virtual desktop.

It doesnt work without virtual desktop unfortunately and i don't have $15 to cough up for a program today
I have VD and it doesn't stream to my headset (Quest 3). It goes to blackness, even tho on my monitor it does stream stereoscopic.

Appreciate you taking the time for your workaround but yeah i dont want to risk spending money on something that might not work

Tried just downloaded Steam link on my headset and that still didnt work sadly.
