Naval targeting in Arcade
I don't want the AI to aim for me. I want to know where my point of impact is and aim for myself.

Re-enable the aiming lead in Arcade.. Honestly, what a dumb move turn it off..

Its hilarious, enemy ships just need to go in a circle and you can hit them ffs. The auto aim doesn't compensate and always misses lol

I guess the problem is that we shoot where the enemy will be in future, and we are better at guessing what a human will do than a computer. The AI can only 'see' the current speed and heading. I can see what manoeuvre the enemy is attempting, their position on the map vs. obstacles, stage of game, type of ship, level of player, current damage etc. and I can also compensate for my own planned movement and ammo type.
we still have to lead except now i have no idea where to aim because i have no idea how much the AI is leading, its very awkward
This ♥♥♥♥ update destroyed naval for me! what da shame! Typical Gayjin
This is both brainrot and confusing at the same time since we still have to lead for enemies "accelerations", so pretty unintuitive and unfun.

Anyway guys come to Realistic, these 4+ minutes of Q are killing me
I tried coastal today and after 6 minutes waiting I was able to participate in one battle, it's seems costal turned into long range shootout I was sunked twice from the distance of more than 3000m, I tried to shoot back, but could figure out new aiming since I have nothing to aim with, but it seems working fine for whoever was shooting at me from long distance.

Its automated for alot of the ships, they literally click "select new target" and it auto fires even from behind mountains. So yeah if you can't figure out the distance and hit them the automated system will murder you.

Amazing they had that tech back in 1920/40's
I think the problem is that the boats I used are all wood while the ones shooting at me from long distance are 8mm or more steel and I can't inflict any damage to them at such distance, but they have no problem sinking wood ships.

I've played a lot of coastal. That isn't the problem.
Most any coastal can gun down other coastal.
This new aiming is straight awful and mode ruining IMO
3km is short range for 20mm and 40mm guns. 3000m is less then 2 miles for guns with ranges of 7 or 8 miles. Many of these coastal also carry 76mm guns.
So now just click on the target boat to select it and keep firing hoping something will hit it by chance?
Let's take it from a positive point of view, we just clandestinely got a brandnew game mode - Star War's Thunder! Laser beam accuracy in wooden boats from the 20'ies of past century! They just didn't get the licences to use space ships from the movies....

Yeah who knew we lived in a galaxy far far away with auto locking ability in the early 20s

What are the four words that precede "In a Galaxy"
I just tried Pr.1124 with 76mm cannons in test mode firing on moving boat and I fired like 50 shots and only scored 1 hit, I think something isn't working on my end.

I've always found the USSR river boats difficult to use with their large calibre guns on small platforms. I skipped over them.

Otherwise the fast firing 20s,30s, 37s,40s, etc on other crafts are much better
