As for Japanse tanks I hate to do the WoT/WarThunder comparison but you only need to look at the WoT Japanese tank tree to see that they were struggiling to fill it. Most tanks were lights or mediums at best since the Japanese looked at tanks as an after thought and placed the priority on aircraft and ship development.
Japanese tanks would also be the weakest in the game armor and gun wise, and because most were light tanks they would be outclassed to the tanks currently in game
True, but they could tweak them to just have a faster speed or other good quality to counter balance the lack of armor/firepower. Also the ♥♥♥ planes are the crappiest in the game already with close to no armor, poor firepower for their teirs, and only 2 jets . so i dont think that a lack of many heavy tanks will matter much. it would also allow the jungle map to make some type of sense
The devs are trying to keep the in game veichles close to their real world counterparts so any tweaks would be minimal at best.
As for Japanse planes you really should look at there tech tree and fly a couple before you make assumptions about them. I fly them all the time and there firepower is pretty decent overall, i'm usually averaging around 6 kills a match. There also apart from the Spitfires the best turn fighters in the game. And while they have less armor then some planes they can easily out manuver most in dog fight. And they have more then 2 jets
Though looking through what they got, Japan would actually have enough armour to fill out a tech tree but just barely and no more. Most of their stuff would fizzle out at around current Tier 3. The O-I prototype could actually give them something similar to the Maus. Ho-Ri Tank Destroyer Prototype would give them something similar to the Elephant. In short a lot of prototypes to flesh out their line. So in short a full ♥♥♥ line isn't impossible but it isn't going to look pretty. It'll look like a menu at a Scottish Restaurant, not much there and what is there you don't really want.
UK Tanks if they keep accurate to their stats will be a massive culture shock with current gameplay. Everyone may suddenly find themselves on the end of the biggest ass kicking by a British Master race. APDS rounds will be flying everywhere.
You have the inter-war and WW2 periods which have plenty of light and medium tanks, and possibly some tank destroyers. And then you have the Type 61 light tank (akin to a modernized Walker Bulldog) and the Type 74 medium tank (akin to the M60 or Leopard 1) that would make suitable Tier V tanks for the light and medium trees. The real problem exists in the Tier IV area, where you have advanced late war tanks that outclass the strongest WW2 Japanese tanks (which really only carry them to Tier III.)
The only options for that area are to either use paper designs that were in development when Japan capitulated, or fill it in with the American tanks that the JGSDF was given when it first formed.
And you can pretty much discount Japan ever having a heavy tank tree, but that's not a huge problem. While the tank trees are currently rather even, not every nation's aircraft tree has the same lines. Japan can lack a heavy tank tree just as the UK lacks a ground attack aircraft tree.
That probably is where it's going to fall flat, Tier IV. It would have to either incorporate a lot of prototypes which there isn't enough of, since most of the prototypes would be able to beef up Tier 3 max, or pinch a lot of stuff off the US. The only two Japanese made Tier IV range vehicles I can think of are the OI and Ho-Ri and they are prototypes. It would have to flesh out the gap with US vehicles.
On a side note always wondered why Britain lacked a proper ground attack aircraft tree even though ground attack aircraft is something Britain was heavily known for during WW2? Hurricanes, Typhoons and Tempests were famous for it. Hurricanes especially in North Africa would terrorise German Armour with 2pdr (40mm) guns strapped to their wings.
sorry, i meant 3 jets. and i use the ♥♥♥ planes quite a bit and ive never had much luck, becasue i contantly get shot down way too quickly
