M10 vs T34 variants

Played the US M10 TD almost all day - two victories, and those were only when I was fighting alongside the Russian T34s. It seems like the M10 is far outmatched by the Russian T34 variants, and that killing them is near impossible. Anyone else getting this? T34 variants should have higher BRs.

M10 cannot pen T34 from front, because of the angling on the hatch and frontal chassis.

You can punch through its turret front and turret ring. Basically the same result, because it's so cramped inside.

you never aim for the front on a tank where their armor is strongest .... anyone can figure that out..
between turret ring = critical / 1 hit every time

I know that aiming for strongest armor is not the way to go, I just didn't know how else to deal with T34. Thank you for the tips, I'll try that out.

So the suggestion would be to aim for weakspots for the US player, while the Rus player has no need to aim for any kind of weakspot.

The M10 is a paper-armoured tank destroyer - what else do you expect of it?

Most TDs have paper armor.

My main complaint is that the T34 has such a big advantage over the M10, where the M10 can get shot anywhere and become killed instantly if not set on fire, whereas the T34s have to be killed with actual effort.

There's really no advantage for a tank destroyer over a tank if the TD is the M10.

Just use a T34, you can do more in all ways.

I have the T34, but I wanted to try the US tanks because I got sick of using the RU ones. But before I persist, is the M18 any better than the M10?

The M18 is a faster, punchier, less armored M10. The biggest difference is that turret traverse though, its a god send.

Not necessarily. Especially the German TDs have somewhere between decent and very good armour as long as you stay hull-down and at a fitting range to protect yourself. Distance and positioning is just as important for any TDs, really.

Better gun with better performance at long range can be a significant advantage. The most common mistake people make with vehicles like the M10 is to stay in their spots and keep firing as if they were a tank with armour.
