F4U-1d Corsair ammo belts
I was looking to get into the F4U corsair. What ammo belt works good for boom and zoom? And which would work well for a dogfight?
And for dogfight I mean for when you actually have to fly defensivle and shoot someone after you.

Personally, I like ground targets...it seems to light people up more often than not.

With the US I just take the belts with the most API-T ammo usually. For some reason I keep forgetting to switch my F4U back from stealth ammo though, and it fares well with it, so that works too. Stealth is probably helpful for BnZ though since .50's take more fire to take someone down than cannons, so you don't want them pulling away.

Stealth for me. They cant dodge tracers plus you get a good mix of ammo.
AP- for straight penetration
2x API- penetration and chance to start fire
2x I - Fires

Universal is pretty good too but IMO is weaker due to having plain 'Tracer' bullets which dont penetrate well, or cause fires as commonly.

You shouldnt need tracers for BnZ. In fact they probably hurt more than help in many cases. The only advantage to tracers are API-T which have a good chance to start fires, but so do regular API and I ammo. SInce they can't dodge, or see when you've started firing, stealth gives you a big advantage on getting hits especially if you know how to snipe with headons. If I see enemy tracers, I know exactly when they've fired and when to dodge their fire, so I dont take any damage. Frequently if I have ANY tracers, even on 7mm the enemy will be able to dodge my long range shots, and it makes it much harder to get a kill especially when you dont have the most manuverable plane (aka BnZ planes)
