Probably a bit more explosive filler and therefore more deadly on post penetration, but then again, while the gun is not completely a fantasy gun it was never really used operationally by the Wehrmacht back then and there is probably not much if any data of it being tested available so I guess Gaijin just did some extrapolations on its ballistics, penetration and destructive effects.

Thing is, I can't yet fully comment on it, as I am currently in the process of unlocking the 10.5 cm Tiger II.

The standard round says it's a APCBC, but being just a PzGr, it should be just APC. It also acts like just APC as the accuracy is not always that good. It also has a lower muzzle velocity then the defult 88mm shell, but the PzGr. 39 is slightly faster. Penetration is not that different from the Tiger II. Just looking at it, it seems like it has a longer barrel but it is shorter then the Tiger II. The 10.5cm being a L/68 while the 88mm is a L/71.

In the end, it basicly just has more HE filler causing more damage if it penetrates. I can't say how the APCR is though as I don't have it yet.

The 105mm shells hold a lot more explosives than the 88mm shells, because they're larger and heavier. That extra explosives means that they do a lot more damage when they explode inside the tank after punching through the armour.

For example:
8.8 cm Pzgr. 39/43
-> ~10 kg total weight
-> ~0.059 kg explosive filler

10 cm Pzgr. (the Germans happened to call many 10.5 cm shells just 10 cm)
-> ~14 kg total weight
-> ~0.24 kg explosive filler

Data taken from the Geschossringbuch, a collection of technical drawings of ammunition used by the Germans.
