FW-190s in general are the epitome of boom and zoom. They have absolutely absurd energy retention and will leave most opponents in the dust during a dive.

Their primary weakness is they don't have particularly good rudder authority so it can make aiming corrections in a dive tricky. This is something you'll just have to work out as you play it more. They also do terribly in any kind of horizontal turn. Just don't. Use yo-yos to turn instead.

You'll also be in trouble if someone ends up on your six, so picking smart engagement opportunities is very important. Your primary defensive options are using the D-9's excellent rolling characteristics to force an opponent to overshoot you and/or diving away. Anything other than that is a death sentence.

290-300 km/h would be the ideal climbing speed for a D-9. It doesn't climb as well as the Bf-109 naturally, but it still climbs better than most of its primary opponents (except Spitfires). Side climbing is the preferred strategy and your primary job is to harass other aircraft that climbed as well, forcing them further and further to the ground while leaving you with altitude and the energy advantage.

And yes, there's a similar guide for every nation; just search "climb" and most of them will be near the top of the list.

FW 190s are fairly heavy fighters, so you really want to climb and use boom & zoom tactics with them. They are really bad at horizontal turnfights; I think they are slightly better in the vertical, but still lacking compared to 109s and many other, lighter fighters. If there's a light plane like a zero, Spitfire, etc. on your tail you can enter a steep dive to either loose them or even lure them to their deaths--either from ripping at excessive speeds or from reaching such a high speed that they cannot pull up in time before hitting the ground.

If it's another heavy fighter, you probably can't dive away and are better off performing rolling maneuvers to either force an overshoot (especially if they are diving on you) or to use scissors to line up your shot.

You can roll with keys? I always thought you had to use your mouse, at least I do...
