What is CIS servers?

It's an extremely weird move. CIS stands for Commonwealth of independent states, basically it's Russia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, kyrgyzstan, kazakhstan, belarus, azebaijan, armenia.

With what they did, they might as well rename NA/EU to NATO.

most games call US servers NA servers anyway.

Yeah except.. NA is a continent. RU was a region, that spans half the world technically. CIS is an alliance of countries not a region. They're all different types of descriptor. It's just needless change for no reason.

Yeah except.. NA is a continent. RU was a region, that spans half the world technically. CIS is an alliance of countries not a region. They're all different types of descriptor. It's just needless change for no reason.

RU is literally the nation Russia. maybe they have servers in many CIS nations.

The name change will increase the likelihood of getting Gaijin banned by the "NA" due to ongoing "PR" dealings by using the current naming conventions. Geographic continent verses the "commonwealth" naming convention is an issue. In addition, if they are using EU to cover-up that it is of another region (not Europe) will cause even more problems. This will get more exposure and scrutiny. My opinion... bad move. Best to keep it apolitical as a business and not favor any side in anyway. Great game though.

I just realized the most russian part about war thunder/gaijin is that they say they are def non-political yet do every political move possible
like naming and doing certain practices out of literally nowhere with no reasons

Who lied to you that Russia spans half the world? Russia is a little more than half the size of Africa.
