Higher Tier Ground Forces are not fun if you don't know what you're doing. You will get dumpster'd on by players that have committed ungodly amounts of hours of play time to grind out their favorite trees and it can be a very frustrating experience to drop money, play there, and not do very well.
Secondly, War Thunder's anniversary is coming up at the end of October where you can get up to 50% Premium Vehicles (especially the ones you pointed out) so I would suggest pausing on purchases until that comes up if you weren't already planning on doing so.
I can't really comment on Helicopters as I don't use them much, but the Ka-50 is the best Premium Helicopter purchase without a doubt. Helicopter PVE is okay, but if you really want to grind out SL, make a Premium Naval purchase. The SL modifiers for Naval are nuts and no game mode can outpace the gains there.
There's plenty of "nice to have" Premium vehicles in Ranks III, IV, and V, but they're definitely not going to be necessary if you already have a higher tiered Premium. Good buys for Germany Rank IV for instance are the Tiger II Sla.16 and RU 251 while in the Soviets, the only thing I wouldn't pick up is the SU-122P.
When deciding on a purchase, you always want to consider the vehicle's Battle Rating and what other vehicles you can pair with it that 'll work well in a line up. A common mistake new players make is bringing in multiple vehicles that have a wild variation in Battle Rating.
Either way 100% don't pay for vehicles until you're certain you intend to stay playing for a while.
Also the premium account time will make it impossible to have a negative SL amount while also increasing your gains by a decent bit (wish it was more though still)
Is there going to be discount on gold eagles as well, or I'm good to buy them now?
No discounts on GE. The discounts you see atm are for buying in larger amounts at one time.
Thank you, I can proceed with purchasing some.
if you buy a top tier vehicle ads new player I can guarantee you one simple thing:
you will die a lot and have no idea why and how because one of the most important things in wt is knowledge of maps and enemy capabilities as well as strengths and weaknesses of your own vehicle. and if you start at the top you won't have any. and you'll get teared a second one a lot. plus: you don't have any other vehicles to build a lineup which makes you a liability to your team. so I can't stop you from doing it, but don't blame anyone but yourself for getting destroyed.
Just bought premium time and some golden eagles for now. I just want to make life easier for me while I reach WW2 tanks :)
After watching many videos, I understood that much, that is not getting right into top tear just to die, will ruin the fun for me and my team.
This is exactly what I also want to do! I just don't know most optimal premium tanks for Tier 3-4 for USSR and Germany, any tips? I just don't want AA, or TD's.
Might be too late if you bought a long premium account but I would also wait for sales where you can get 365 days of premium for roughly 30 bucks.
Important for gameplay are lineups, if you buy a single vehicle and get hit you can spawn it twice as long as you have backups but after that you would be forced to leave the match.
Research points are linked to time spend in battle, if you die once and leave you will earn less than if you have 3 or 4 tanks + SPAA and CAS in your lineup and use all that.
In some techtrees, russia for example you could do this and buy yourself the T-72AV (Turms), the 2S38 and the BMP-2M plus the KA-50 for cas. But that would be a huge amount of GE/money you would need to invest.
Therefore premium account is the most valuable item.
If you already made progress in a techtree and like the vehicles feel free to buy a premium tank near your current BR to use that in your lineup.
Edit: If you are looking for low tier premiums the starter packs are all worth their money, especially when discounted.
For some suggestions the T34-57 is a good rank 3 for russia, the Tiger II SLA for rank 4 germany, since you dont like TDs otherwise the Jagdpanther is a very solid choice too. No idea if they still sell the KV iC in the german techtree that would also be a solid pick.
experienced players can sometimes pick off premium tank players because they jumped into a higher tier without proper knowledge of combat
This.
With only a high caution :
I have played both, Naval & Heli PVE.
I would recommand to OP to forget about Naval & chose Heli PVE with the Ka-50, which is the best Prem Heli, yes, and it can also be a high "CAS" in Ground Battles.
PVE-Helis is a better option to create a huge Silver Lions (SL) wallet, because you earn SL with "personnal facts" ingame AND TIME SPENT during PVE battle (the longest you stay, the more you earn, even if maybe you will be less effective on the terrain).
It is less subject to counterperformances "because of better opponents", as it is a cooperative mode.
In Naval, you will face players that have spent time & effort to update their Naval Crew, so you may be confronted to the same problems than in Ground or Air Battles against experimented players with maximized crews.
So, it would / could participate to a bad feeling at the end.
