If you drive tanks like the walker bulldog well, then the Leopard is for you. If you have tons of lions that can be wasted on 15,000 lion repair cost for the Maus, then it might be for you. But if you want a tank that's cheap to repair, can fire cHEATFS, and has good armor, then go Russians for tier 5. T-10M is insanely OP.
You're right about one thing, Russian bias isn't an opinion. Russian bias is a FACT and has been proven so many times over it's not even funny. I think it was the leopard's APDS penetration where a bug report was submitted on it, and EIGHT sources were provided, yet gaijin did not do anything.
Meanwhile, Russian 'fixes' are done with just 2 sources, both of which are from russian testing ground.
He wants to know if the tanks are fun. Is it fun to have to pay 15k every time you get knocked out? Repair cost is an attribute of a tank, and commenting on attributes of a tank is reviewing a tank, so I don't see how that's off topic.
Anyway, now we are getting off topic.
Tier 5 overall is an unbalanced mess, and it's probably best to stick to a lower BR to have more fun, such as 3.7. If you insist of tier 5 however, it depends on what kind of person you are. If you feel bad sealclubbing tanks that have no hope against you, then Russian tanks are not for you. If you have more fun being on top, then go Russian tanks.
I spent months at 6.7 because I loved the Tiger tanks and feared that Germany Tier V was horrible.
I finally decided last week to just do it, and bought myself the 10.5cm Tiger and the Jagdtiger.
I feel let down.
When I get into matches that have me with 7.0 and below tanks I do great. When I get in a 7.7 and down match I do...Meh and when I am in a dreaded 8.0 match, Russian tanks laugh at me and call me bad names. I go home a cry to my mother and then take a cold shower.
I hear nothing really good about the Leopard other than its gun and the Maus is a giant moving target. To say I am disappointed in German Tier V is an understatment. I am frustrated and get angry.
Not when you're knocked out every match to Russian tanks, or if you're trying to save up for purchasing a new tier 5 vehicle.
This is exactly it. I prefer the Maus over the Leopard simply because, until foliage is not optional, it's too easy to think you're hidden behind a bush and waiting in ambush but then be sniped across the map. With the Maus, you have enough armor to even bounce cHEATFS if the person shooting it at you is bad at the game.
Tier 4 is a choir and tier 5 is a nightmare
Why....
This is the exact opposite of what the community wanted... Only a minority of BR 8.0 (7.7 now) in a game means that they get to seal club the majority of 6.7 or 7.0 tanks. It will make tanks like the T-54 as bad as they were when all Germany had was the Panther II and Tiger II 105 at BR 8.0.
This is the worst possible choice gaijin could have made. Expanding the BR to 9.0 or 10.0 is the best way to balanced tier 5, and compressing the BRs only makes it worse.
