Stirling bombers? Why are they higher br than the halifax?
The stirling bombers are objectively worse than the halifax. They have less armour, a lower bomb load, an unsplit tail so the top gunner and tail gunner cant both shoot at the same time. the top gunner only has 2mg's as opposed to the halifax's 4mg's, it's slower... The only noticable improvement I can see is all the fuel tanks are self sealing and some armor near the engines.

Surely the stirling bombers should be at a lower br than the halifax, or the same br, instead of higher. They just seem like ♥♥♥♥ bombers to be honest.

The heavy bombers are all useless they just get out climbed and shot down it doesn't matter.

If they reach the target which is usually uncommon. There is no reason for the stirling to be higher but it seems consistant with most of the game. That being Gaijin doesn't know what balance is.

I would really agree on that & a good comparison on the USSR side is Pe-8 to Yer-2s, although they are around the same BR one have way better speed & climb rate irrespective of loadout & better defensive armament too, one usually at least make it to the target while the other one doesn't.
My point is that the stirlings in the game is objectively worse planes than the halifax and should be before the halifax/under the halifax in br. Furthermore, in real life, the halifax had its first flight 5~ months after the stirling, so it being a newer plane than the stirling, makes sense in the game as well for the stirlings to be lower br, not higher.

And we have the R3 T20 and EBR at 4.7 and 4.0. Gaijin can't give a crap about balance.

never mind that one of germanys tree very lowest BR tanks has a magical asspull 20mm cannon that gets to magically pen armour it CAN'T instead of just wrecking tracks etc like that 20 mm did IRL, and in arcade, bounces everything that hits it even dead on.

The maps are too small tbh, hence bomber matches have vehicles so that you don't even need bombers to win. Then there is the declining players base meaning you're guaranteed uptiering in something that is less popular. For the most part bombers are just there to fill up the grind quota for vehicle tiers.

I think it would be cool if bomber matches were organised into escorts, bombers and defenders where the mission is about getting to the target or stopping the bombers rather than being able to destroy the target.

yeah they definitely need to add some more game modes, bomber escort missions would be epic, as well as if they gave you money + xp for being around a bomber, i.e: guarding it, so that players who do guard bombers actually benefit from it to incentivise people to do it.

Bombers just need to have an actual place in the game, not targets that are literally at the enemy spawn point.
Currently the only way bombers work is when they are entirely left alone and don't interact with any other plane.. 10/10 game design.

If bombers had actual value, fighters could have a reason to protect them, you could have more escort style missions and whatnot.. but for starters they need to stop being made out of paper.
Yeah a lot of ww2 bombers had metal frames, which doesn't justify the tails and wings getting blown off all the time in the game

on a similar vein the german bomber are amusingly low BR for their speed and payload, not to mention some of them has access to the broken 20mm mineshot that can lol delete planes without a thought.

not to mention PLAYER's turret ai needs to not be nerfed into the dirt. since currently AI npc AAA aiming is 100% accurate and applies heavy aoe dmg to your whole plane, whilt a players turret gunners cannot hit ANYTHING, even at point blank range, flying in a straight line, slowly. let alone if the target is manouvreing.

trying to take on a heavy bomber bristling with turrets like a b17 or lancaster should legitimately be nigh-suicidal. especially since bombers should be formation flying wings and squares to cover each other, forcing INTECEPTORS to take them on in wolfpacks to stand a chance

To be fair the lancaster has worse defense than the halifax. It's got all the same turret positions but 2 less machine guns on the top turret. :(
