Planes on the other hand I think could work well, although they'd need to improve damage models for wood and canvas.
doesn't mean it necessarily won't tho
Their road top speeds are higher than that and as with everything in the game their in-game top speed would be the theoretical maximum. The rest can be solved with smaller maps designed around it. Plenty of maps are already small enough as it is.
Need we go on?
OP is as right today as he was 5 years ago. Bring on the A7V and the Focker Tri plane please.
It would give us a reliance of armour back as many of the guns at the time would struggle with even thin armour. It would make careful consideration of where you're shooting pretty important.
Or the ~1.0 tanks with 20mm cannons?
Or the tanks with Shrapnel shells as their best default ammo, with 34 max pen, even at 2.3?
Or really anything with modest pen in an uptier facing medium/heavy tanks?
Or anything with poor post-pen damage?
Yeah, sorry, but having to actually aim is pretty common already. I know that some guns are best described as "lol-pen," but I'm pretty confident that issue would still occur in some fashion in WW1 tanks. Either that or nobody can pen anyone else and matches always hit the time limit.
