Well, it's got tanks in it. There's that.
On from that, it's quite different. It's way harder, certainly as you begin to fight against skilled players. The learning curve is long and steep, and you have planes to worry about.
Played WoT for a couple of years in the mid 2010's. Wouldn't go back
Well I guess War Thunder is simulation while World of Tanks is not.
War Thunder has better graphics and physics, is just more realistic for me...
And grinding is much more satisfying, even without premium.
Does bush meta suddenly not exist?
Arcade mode is still arguably a simulation, just a fantastical one.
Crew, components, and armor still all act semi-realistically rather than an HP bar.
World of Tanks revolves around DPS while War Thunder revolves around smart positioning and your overall game/vehicle knowledge to exploit your vehicle's strengths and your opponent's weaknesses.
That's not to say that World of Tanks doesn't do the latter, but War Thunder emphasizes far more by having a realistic damage model. Your vehicle getting one shot/ammo racked isn't an RNG mechanic, it's by design in War Thunder so you need to play very thoughtfully. A small mistake can mean your destruction.
War Thunder has a steep learning curve, but it's worth trying out to see if it works out for you.
Fair warning though, the grind gets pretty hefty as you progress higher into the respective tech trees, but it's pretty fine up to Tier IV. Tier V-VII is where the pain really starts.
Warthunder is whoever played the most carefully
WoT is a Tank Skin HP Bar Team Brawler..while War Thunder is more realistic in the way of how Armour and Shells work...so a Hit at youre Ammo Rack and you go Boom.
