However, this makes flying anything other than a fighter very painful. I do think RB at this point needs a major overhaul given the current state of the game and wouldn't mind seeing a spawn point system introduced and tailored objectives for certain roles.
I do like your thoughts on how it could be improved for plane specific roles and tailored objectives, that would make matches much more enjoyable.
Arcade (including naval) and simulator are my choice. Let there be so-called 'realistic' (with little to no realism in it) so that the project doesn't close due to financial cuts, and rare people can continue enjoying actually good modes.
The XP-50/55, Ayit, MiG-21S, T-2 Early, Sambad, F2H are just a few examples of aircraft that I love to play in both Arcade and RB.
But something like the Sa'ar, Yak-15P, MiG-15bis, F3D-1, etc. are aircraft I ONLY enjoy in arcade.
If you are still playing props, arcade is 100% better imo. For Jets, it really boils down to your opinion of the aircraft and how it flies compared to the enemy. In Arcade your aircraft becomes a lot more flexible, allowing you to make use of niche vehicles that may otherwise be outclassed in RB. RB allows you to CAPITALIZE on meta vehicles, and really get a grip on a specific play-style for a certain vehicle, at least thats how I see it.
no tags or rangefinders
The combat changes from
My aircraft out climb yours therefore l win
to
I see you and u dont

Anti Air - sometimes you get to play with worm free brains that actually help friendly CAS
Ground pounders are usefull , even bombers with their large bombs that clear objectives are usefull
P.S -l dont speak about jets - that changes whole tactic - at that point ARB is just better
to be honest ( imo ) , i feel air rb more faire balanced than groud rb
usually on low level rb , i love close combat dogfight
