Thanks for the answers
I was asking for m16 / wirbelwind kind of multibarrel still thanks for the answer and your time
I didn't got the answer for multiple Gun nut, military mania and mechanic community
I'm going back and forward through the community
Many WW2/early cold war multi-gunned systems such as the wirbelwind/M16 don't have mechanically linked firing mechanisms, only the triggers are linked. Meaning each gun can fire at it's own RPM (rounds per minute).
Pretty much all gas and recoil operated guns have a range they operate in. For example, the M2 Browning 50cal has a range of 450-600 rounds per minute. Parts wearing down, dirt, temperature, ammo type, lubrication, etc all affect the RPM, but as long as they stay in that range, they're serviceable.
Modern vehicles are a whole other beast since they introduce electronic fire control systems.
Something like the ZU-23-2, GsH-30K, GsH-23L use the Gast principle. The Gast principle is to have two separate guns connected to each other in such a way that the recoiling force of one firing loads and charges the other which is then fires which loads and charges the other gun. By combining two weapons in this way the effective ROF is doubled, you will always have one barrel firing as the other is loaded and charged to fire by the recoil stroke.
Gattling guns are another method of increasing ROF, multiple barrels are rotated with only one at a time ever being fired, ROF is dictated by the amount of revolutions the mechanism can complete in a minute. Gattling guns can be electrically (GAU-8) or gas (GsH-30-6, GsH-23-6) operated.
