me and a friend are having a discussion, he is saying the is2 is better
i'm saying the tiger 2 is better

obviously i'm being called ignorant as i'm lvl 21 and a german main, but i really want to know what the pros and cons of each vehicle are, as both could be killed by each other pretty easily

Tiger 2 hands down

well tiger 2 h is a higher br overall but imo id rather tiger 2. Tigers armor is pretty unreliable but the hull can be surprisingly good especially when angled. issue comes from the turret being easily penetrable and when it gets penned, you're probably gonna die. Speed is fairly similar on both but from my experience is-2 is generally more reliable hull down with peek a boom.

is2 has the boom cannon but has an ungodly long reload. tiger 2 has a much higher reload rate. pen is similar on both of their aphe/apcbc rounds but hte is2 has the greater explosive payload so is more likely to 1 shot. The reload speed on the IS-2 is just far too bad for me to like it and it has no gun depression at all so you are very limited on positions. Tiger 2 is just far more reliable and versatile

Personally for me, when I am playing, I prefer the Tiger 2!

Tiger II is better, but I prefer the IS-2 for its reverse speed, one hit kill potential, and because German teams are braindead and on the Soviets I only have to put up with them some of the time instead of all of the time.

tiger 2 is better frontally and the gun reload is better but the problem is that it cant get up and go nor is it as fast generally as the is-2. but sadly the biggest thing is going to be the players skill level.

Tiger 2 for being more versatile. The IS2 is more leaning towards the gimmicky type of tank with that gun.

As a heavy IS-2 palyer I say Tiger 2. It's better and more fun since when downtired, you can bounce shells and be a sponge for taking damage.
I'd say it's entirely based on the player, as most things are in this game. The IS2 can use its engine as armor, meaning the Tiger has to be more careful and hit it's cheeks. It also has unmatched reverse speed for engaging and disengaging.

The Tiger 2 cannot be penned from the hull (I guess maybe MG port), but it does have massive cheeks that the IS2 can pen. However, the Tiger 2 has the advantage of the 88 being a good gun, and having the reload advantage. However, it's pretty much whoever pens first. Both have good explosive rounds which will probably 1 shot.

Tiger II H vs IS 2 '44 I would say Tiger II H
Tiger II P vs IS 2 '44 I would say Tiger II P
Both Tigers are objectively better than the IS-2.

But Tiger II P vs IS-2. I would prefer to play the IS-2.
Not because the IS-2 is better but because the IS-2 is better at it's 5.7 RB. The best I've ever been able to figure the main difference between the IS-2 and the IS-2 '44 is the DShK. And I love a DShK as much as the next guy but it isnt worth stepping up to 6.3 over. ~5.7-6.0 is imo the pinnacle of heavy tank game play. Much higher and the armor just doesnt keep up with the cost in size and mobility. Sure there are a few heavy tanks a little later in some tech trees but they dont have the staying power anymore, they basically become oversized slow medium tanks.

Sadly you should factor in your average German teammates at that BR. I've seen so much of German teammates or opponents be blind to the environment.

Anyways, I feel like the Tiger 2 should be more consistent in performance. You can really on the armor unlike the IS-2. The reload on the IS-2 also stinks plus has less penn. Haven't talked about the optics also, Tiger 2 has better optics than the IS-2. Only thing I'd say the IS-2 is better is the HE filler and the mobility in general.

I agree on all counts except at 5.7 one can work with those issues. At 6.3 and 6.7 that margin of error becomes smaller.

The is-2 has one of those one hit wonder guns. If you don't pen your target or kill the wrong target your gona get overwhelmed quickly. But the Is-2 have overall better armor for the simple fact that the Tiger 2 is used in droves because "tigers are invisible" thus all there weak points are basically automatic reactions to moderate skilled players. But the Tiger 2 is more forgiving with missing or being gaijined.

Tiger 2H hands down. In an urban environment the IS-2 is chicken feed to German armor slopes.

Hard question but I put my vote for IS-2 1944. It's backward speed and great one-hit kill gun are glorious. It's also survives more compared to Tiger II (H), because turret sometimes can ricochet shells even if you stand forward to enemy. Tiger II (H) turret many times have dissapointed be because it's soft even while you degree it, standing with turret forward = You die. Standing with turret degree = You die, because degree turret opens weak side rounded panels. In IS-2 1944 you know what kind of situation makes you dead, in Tiger II it's lottery.
