Just metal bars of steel.
Either shoot the Tiger 1 directly in the center of its main plate or to its far right (Opposite side to the driver's hatch) in order to detonate its ammunition load. There is never a good reason to go for the Tiger's driver port.
Edit: the problem is that game does not have the mechanic that can create the complex transfer of kinectic energy that will happen if it hits first a steel bar and how it wil then will transfer to the plate underneath it
"trolling MODE ON" what i saw was from my tiger H armor view informations:
If you look, the driver bay and coaxial gun has more than 400mm of effective armor, and it decrease immediately once you move your mouse cursor away from the holes.
Maybe the shells read the technical data that say 400mm or more, when it enter the driver bay, and it's like if it couldn't penetrate after all ?
(i dunno about game mechanics)
"trolling MODE OFF"
If i remember how was performing the tiger tanks before the 1.5x patch, maybe the 80mm armor had less bounce mechanic.
I tryed with different guns, 105mm king tiger, is2 shells, elephant, the tiger bounce a lot.
the answer is if you drive in arcade mode:
Drive realistic mode.
Jumbos tanks, and the medium 76 tree, at any distance the tiger H penetrate my americans tanks and one shot them, while i can't penetrate the weak spots, but it's cause i play arcade actually, and i have to get closer of course.
Maybe there is a little armor bug i dunno on both tanks.
I had answers like driver bay and coaxial guns are separated from the driver space other crew members.
So it's not really a weakspot, and coaxial guns are used mainly to kill infantry that you encounter that are really dangerous for your tank if they overrun you.
Even if it has 180mm of armour, if unangled, or slightly angled at close distances IS-2's shells should be able to pen it. What also confuses me, is how the turret seems just godly, since there is no apparent way to pen it frontally.
I'm quite sure physics don't work like that
I know it perfectly, but this metal-bars thingy is just retarded
