Grinding tips
So I've heard people say to turn off autorepair and have 2 side ones from my main...my main is Germany, and I have good tanks in Russia and America, similar planes for both. Is that correct, or is there other stuff I can do to grind faster, without premium.

turning off auto repair is just for saving on SL. the only way to grind faster is use the vehicle directly before the one you're currently researching, then you get an xp bonus for that vehicle.

Play more. There's really no other "tip" to provide if you want stuff faster. I would also keep in mind that Gaijin generally gives 50% discounts to Premium time during their anniversary period which will start next week.

Most importantly though, have fun. You won't get much out of the game if you feel like you're doing to a chore more than playing a video game.

I get bored of playing the same vehicles over and over sometimes, that's why I change what nation I play at times. I've got 3 nations at rank 3-4 ground, every other nation 1-2 ground, and every nation at rank 1-2 for planes,

Buy premium time and/or vehicles.

Do the assualt thingie for ground and air once a day for them boosters.

Make sure to research +/- 1 rank.

Try to be active during your matches.

I prefer to have fun instead of grind, but to each his own.

Wrong... Its simply because each time you buy a upgrade it repairs itself after its spaded its not going to be the case.

That's everything in the game, that doesn't mean I can't want something

There aren't any secret techniques. Be effective (which includes constantly improving yourself), be active in combat, don't get "tilted", don't ragequit, use vehicles within +/-1 tier, add the previous vehicle in the research tree to your lineup for that 10% bonus (but only if you can use it well, otherwise it isn't worth it), fully "spade" vehicles (as in unlock all upgrades) for bonus experience (but only if using them doesn't hurt your effectiveness, or your sanity). You could also get yourself premium account / premium vehicle / talisman, but that involves either paying or grinding events.

You should probably already know all that. The only un-obvious advice I can give after 3000+ hours of playing is that you don't want to focus on "grinding faster". Many go down that road and end up forgetting why they play the game. It can be very difficult to recover from that.

what does +/- 1 mean ?! ty

Only research vehicles that lie within 1 rank plus or minus of the vehicles you are using.

If you are researching vehicles with more than 1 rank difference of what you are using, there are maluses on the vehicle RP you'll get.

See:
https://wiki.warthunder.com/Research_Points#Multipliers

Premium vehicles are a bit different, they don't have those maluses for research of vehicles BELOW their own rank.

Yeah. Tiger 2 H is nice. I've been playing as the same tanks for months and loving it. It's nice to settle on tanks you like. I only really started enjoying War Thunder properly when I stopped worrying about grinding. I have all these 10.3 USA tanks researched but I haven't even driven them. I like USA 7.0 etc.
