Anyone know any good model tanks that don't require painting?
I really want to start making some model tanks in the 1/35 scale, but they all requie painting, which I for one am not very good at. Glueing is fine but I could not find any not-painted models.

Wouldn't really know any miniature models that don't require painting, but early war german tanks shuoldn't be that hard to paint, mostly grey.

Not really in 1/35 scale.

You can get some 1/72 or 1/144 scale that are ready painted but most of these are just snap together and dont need glue (really basic).

Have a think about using spray paints. Gives a nice even finish and is a lot quicker.

I have built a number of Tigers and Pz 4's, then used spray paint to finish them off. Doesnt have to be expensive stuff (I got white primer, then a grey gloss from the local pound shop).

Once sprayed you can then use a small brush to pick out things like spade handles, wooden boxes etc. Paint over the tracks with a tan / brown / rust colour

Give it a wash with a well diluted black acrylic (if you are confident enough) for a realistic finish.

If you want more specific colours (desert sand, khaki greens) then Tamiya do them in spray cans. They are more expensive but one can should do you 3 or 4 tanks

I'm sure if you hang out at your local hobby shop long enough you will find someone that can paint. If not practice makes perfect! As a kid, I use to go to the smithsonian alot and was so fascinated by the Messerschmitt Me 262 in the air in space muesum and would build the scale models of em.... Lets say at 5 years old i didnt paint it well but after a while i got better ;P

As people have said above, its really hard (if not impossible). If ya can find any of those skill lvl1 revell kits, i think those are pre-painted. I'm a 1/72 scale modeller and started painting a few years ago, when I couldn't look anymore at those unpainted models I had lying around. So, go ahead and get a starter kit with paints included and give it a try!:steamhappy:
