WT maps are terrible to begin with and its going to be worse
Existing maps already suffered from these terrible changes. Please check on the person who ever decide these changes and tell him he's terrible at it. :angry_seagull:

Every update the maps are getting more and more linear. This mindset of removing options for flanking and getting creative is what killed World of Tanks for me... Warthunder is getting there... How were the bridges problematic??? Why restrict access to a field where basically only light tanks were able to thrive??? Hopefully it gets reverted. I liked those maps.

Geez, you already understand right off the bat. I am too ex WoT player and I had same sentiments. One of the reason why I quit WoT for good.

Because 90% of the playerbase can´t grasp the concept of flanking and therefore deem it unfair and frustrating when confronted with it.

That's the "casualization" of the games: a lot of "players" can't use more than 2% of theyr brains, so....

WoT is a perfect example: more premiums tanks than standard in battles, maps with 3 corridors (and A LOT of FAKE tanks).

I just made a game where I flank with AN IS2. The enemy team don't move at all on my position until I shoot 3 of them. Until this moment they were...in straight line for the cap.

Poor flankers :( they cannot rush to edge of the map and shoot any player that dares to capture the objective. Because anyone going to capture a point is a brainless monkey. But flanking is super smart because instead of W you hold W AND A/D

But to be honest, wht they cannot fill the map with more buldings?

It's always a terrain change or outright deleting something. Eastern Europe would benefit from the city being expanded so the flankers wouldn't just shoot anyone as easily.

The concept of flanking is fine, it's the missing cover around caps and in front of spawn areas that turn the game into a problematic light vehicle meta.
Whoever designed the GF maps has no idea how to double check cover, caps and spawns for possible counter places or sniping spots away from main lanes.
Removing whole flanks or sidelanes because of *balancing* is the wrong way to deal with the problem, it's always smarter to add cover where necessary to counter in a rock-paper-scissors way.
Let's be honest, we already have planes with payload in GF matches so they could basically wall in a cap with only 2 entrances as long as it can be bombed from above.

The one thing they have never really done is make it difficult for CAS. Lets be honest there are some storm they could add. along with wind sheer and a like. This is not a new tech at all to add. It has been around for decade or more.
The major issues with War Thunder maps are the lack of cover/foliage and the presence of spots that let you spawn camp. I took a 1+ year hiatus from the game and noticed that some of the larger maps have been changed to provide more cover and spawn protection. We don't need huge hills or anything but a small hill there or a trench along a road can help tremendously.

that's right - screw the objectives they are for serious losers, or the honey traps as i prefer to call them.

New maps are guff, and annoying.

spawn camping is the best part of this game, I do it all the time. As long as there are spawn zones and objective zones people will camp them. You can call it dumb game design but hey - have you never heard of something called an ambush. Yeah - that happens quite a lot apparently in real wars.

add cover?

so the maps just become a parody of real life?

- find a quick route to an objective? I'll put a rock in the way
- get out of the kill zone fast? Nope I'll artifically put a river in there
- want a speedy getawat? Oh no you have to climb a steep bank.

etc. too obvious rubbish.

The thing with these awful maps is that there are only 2 options:

1- This is the best their map designing team can do

2- The maps don't have any sort of human supervision when being made

Both are equally sad tbh

dude wake up, tell your colleagues to start using their brain. How can't any of you understand no ones likes these changes? how hard is it to get it in your heads? you guys are completely oblivious to what we want lol you lied to us with the reward system for people who finished trees, now you keep making all the maps worse and worse lol you don't introduce new modes, you removed enduring confrontation...I could go on and on.
