Feeling more and more upset with every major update trailer/release

As a teen, I was dreaming of what post-Korean War vehicles, planes foremost, would look like in the game I frankly adored. Was even so tired of waiting for supersonic jets (despite the fact I hadn't reached the highest rank V in any nation at the moment) and air-to-air missiles that I quit it for years, and thus completely missing all the fun when they were first implemented (and best Battle Pass and other event vehicles as well). And since 2022 when I got back (Fire and Ice major update, Smell of Victory BP season), every major update just makes me gloomy and lost, opposite to the excited YouTubers and players who support the hype.
I might have grown up too much and lose faith in the possibility high tiers could be as interesting or better than those we all started from. I might have got too old and become a grumbling creaker somewhere inside (before actually hitting my thirties lol) who's no longer into all those fancy new technologies and just wants more love for interwar and WW2 era from the devs. But I keep grinding new TT vehicles and purchasing premiums for whatever reason, already acquiring 1150+ of them, with just a couple from ranks VII and VIII, and it still seems to be not enough.
There must be a spirit within, who remembers the sweet days of playing the brand new awesome game in 2013-2014 and now asking me to stop the grind and FOMO activities and be happy, grateful, and proud of myself with everything I have unlocked so far, and finally get a several months-long rest, forgetting about the seemingly never-ending flow of new technologies the devs somehow manage to keep adding, but the problem is...I just don't have a clue when I will finally answer him: "Yeah, you're right buddy. It's time".

Relatable, I've stopped anticipating major updates since apex predators (or probably even danger zone) as in my opinion gen 4 jets ruined air rb. At some point I got used to it when *bam* fox-3s and i haven't touched top tier air realistic ever since. Shame because I've been anticipating getting the Mig-29, Su-27 and F-16s back then but nowadays I can't even look forward to it since the TTAA experience is miserable.

Started focusing on ground again, at least there the game play can't really be impacted by more modern tech that makes literally every lower br vehicle useless (well aside from the impact that planes and SAMs have in top tier ground.


Still proud for having beef with a bunch of dudes when they were celebrating the apex predators trailer, had a dispute since i was saying top tier would be unplayable, got told to ♥♥♥♥ of just have funny guy get absolute anger issues that the game is unplayable (after he got 400 matches in the Mig-29)

For me, the problem is that modern tech removes the need for player skill enough that gameplay really just doesn’t feel good the higher you go. It just feels RNG dependent on things like does the missile lock fast enough or does it chase flares or not. Tanks remove the need for spotting things as carefully using thermals or positioning because stabilizers or even aiming because laser rangefinder. This lowers the depth of the gameplay and removes any advantages a skilled player might have over their opponents. Doesn’t make for good gameplay.

I just stay down at 5.7 and below where these things aren’t an issue. All this focus on modern doesn’t excite me either because modern gameplay is just bland.

I only play custom battles now and fly the jets for fun dogfighting and to do like car meets to show off what tanks and jets we have

Okay. Today I finally have the feeling that I'm done with it.
Unlocked rank IV Soviet coastal fleet (so that I could spade SKR-7 later without getting huge penalties on resarching the tech tree and also buy Groza, a notable ship as her class were the first large vessels domestically built by the recently formed Soviet Union, and not just modernization of the Russian Empire ships), got BTR-ZD as well, spaded Finnish Bf-109G-6 Erla before running out of free repairs (and also had a cool ARB match with 14 enemy airplanes down, 6 fighters, 2 bombers and 6 AI-controlled Helldivers, a victory; still believe this mode is one of the two worst modes in the game, along with GRB), and bought the most interesting Swedish aircraft, SAAB-105G, unique in some sense, at least it used to be such before two similar Alpha Jets were added for Germany and France.
If not the KV-7 event (that I can't miss, the tank is NASH (OUR), after all), I'd definitely have a vacation till New Year.

Yeah, one can have some fun in those. I enjoyed flying jets with all-aspect missiles against props hue hue hue

Nah, you didn't get the point. If the devs got a pause and didn't release major updates for, like, half a year or one full year, I'd still buy some rank II-IV premiums I lack on discounts. It's just that they keep adding and adding new vehicles, mostly high-tier, new mechanics, and are much lazier in fixing already present stuff (I appreciate their fixing some old issues and making some modes better, however), I don't like that approach. As I mentioned in the post - give more love to WWII era.
