spikes OP against helis
IRCM, flares, chaff, diving down, literally nothing matters against spikes. if they lock on you are pretty much dead.

i love how they are even better than IR SPAA that struggle to lock on a heli hovering 4 km away.

isnt also the whole point of IRCM to make an IR missile go dumb which the spikes are?

i wouldnt be so butthurt about it if stuff like IR SPAA werent so ♥♥♥♥ compared to spikes.

I agree. but y'know what pisses me off? SPAA IR missiles being VERY unflareale for NO explainable reason. I mean they'll still hit a a-10 at 0% throttle spamming flares! it's stupid. And don't give me that "oh it has IRCCM" the r-73 and 9m have irccm and they're flareable.

id rather spikes be completely unavoidable in a heli, than a heli having free reign from every IR SAM. helis put out an insane amount of heat, SAMs can absolutely lock onto helis at longer than 2.5km when jets putting off less IR will lock at 4+

Just not in-game. (Chaparral gets heli locks only inside 1.2km)

you already have SACLOS guided SPAA at the same BR. these are already more than enough when dealing with helis. meanwhile vics that have spikes can at the same time fight other tanks while also shooting down helis with no downsides.

90% of spike users legit cry around that they are bad but then only shoot them at targets that are 50 meters infront of them. meanwhile they are pretty strong in open maps against tanks and have an easy time dealing with helis aswell.

that would be alright but ingame they are pretty much immune to IRCM, flares and chaff. making them OP af imo.

they also dont leave a giant smoke trail unlike other SPAA.

The issue isn’t that they’re OP, just that the game wasn’t made for it.

To be honest, heli is so strong in this game, especially at higher BRs, that I'm happy for any such option and would welcome more similar options. Insanely powerful air-to-air missiles, especially for Chinese helicopters, aim track for a machine gun that is capable of hitting the pilot's head in a flying aircraft at Mach 1.5, IRCCM, which works better on helicopters than on other machines, and missiles often cannot lock the helicopter even a kilometer away, and of course the ability to use the entire map, the terrain, every hill behind which you can hide and often shoot at a range where no one from the ground can even shoot you. Or hide between the trees and act like a static SPAA system. Mainly on BR 11.0, around it, where there are often SPAA that can't even shoot effectively at these distances. So I'm happy and I would calmly accept more options than destroying helicopters.

The spikes still needed a buff, they were almost unusable... Even now it's not particularly great in terms of dmg, where targets often hit the engine and the like, but at least their target locking system was improved, because before you had to see almost the entire tank to you have proven it locked.

Bro … if you are dying to spikes in a helicopter your brain is leaking out of your ears. They go like 50 m/s, you can hover backwards and evade it. You can go behind a hill and it’s lights out.

Well.. It's as easy as evading a car, but people still get hit by them. especially when the car is trying to hit them. food for thought...

Literally read my post. They like to go over hills and dont leave a giant chem trail unlike conventional SPAA. Chaff and flares also do nothing against them. Trust me i tried to dodge them multiple times but so far it hasnt worked.

Helis are freakin overpowered, it is good that at least something is strong against them and Spikes aren't that great against much else, it took me like 10+ Rounds just to finally get something done with them in the VJTF

Also realistically Spikes should be stronger than they are in this Game, this is already a nerfed version of them
