90% of spike users legit cry around that they are bad but then only shoot them at targets that are 50 meters infront of them. meanwhile they are pretty strong in open maps against tanks and have an easy time dealing with helis aswell.
they also dont leave a giant smoke trail unlike other SPAA.
To be honest, heli is so strong in this game, especially at higher BRs, that I'm happy for any such option and would welcome more similar options. Insanely powerful air-to-air missiles, especially for Chinese helicopters, aim track for a machine gun that is capable of hitting the pilot's head in a flying aircraft at Mach 1.5, IRCCM, which works better on helicopters than on other machines, and missiles often cannot lock the helicopter even a kilometer away, and of course the ability to use the entire map, the terrain, every hill behind which you can hide and often shoot at a range where no one from the ground can even shoot you. Or hide between the trees and act like a static SPAA system. Mainly on BR 11.0, around it, where there are often SPAA that can't even shoot effectively at these distances. So I'm happy and I would calmly accept more options than destroying helicopters.
The spikes still needed a buff, they were almost unusable... Even now it's not particularly great in terms of dmg, where targets often hit the engine and the like, but at least their target locking system was improved, because before you had to see almost the entire tank to you have proven it locked.
Also realistically Spikes should be stronger than they are in this Game, this is already a nerfed version of them
