1.) Few people liked 1.37 because it was too different (not to mention matchmaking was heavily-expanded, which often sucks for people flying the screwed tiers). Note in particular: tier 4 players complaining about incessant jet battles.
2.) Game has been shifting for the better part of a year from a very economically-friendly system towards one that is grind-heavy. Some changes that are positive are accompanied by poor changes against later players (grinding out aircraft upgrades takes a ton longer than grinding planes themselves).
3.) Bomber spam. 1.37 came with a huge bomber spam...which they fixed. 1.39 came back with invulnerable bomber tails...which they fixed. 1.41 came with playerbase committed to heavy bombing because of various nerfs and buffs (note bomb splash damage nerf and bomber spawn altitude buff), making tier 4 ridiculous. Prior to 1.37, bombers were admittedly useless but fixing the issue has not been Gaijin's great strength.
4.) The game is imbalanced and always has been, but people place that on deliberate actions rather than poor balancing (aka Russian bias, anti-German bias).
5.) Bad design decisions such as automated battle-ratings. This in turn affects the opinions of those finding the 5.3 BR of a FW 190 A-5/U2 being ridiculously high, or the P-47 D-28 being ridiculously low. In general people consider Germany and Japan overtiered, versus Russia and America undertiered.
I generally like the game and would probably still give it a positive review, but after a year being in I've seen a lot of really stupid changes that have been coming in recently and some less-recently that haven't been fixed in a long time. I actually hated the economic changes in 1.29 (they added half of the component research there, other than a few examples like bombs and engine upgrades) despite the positive changes of that patch, and the problem for me isn't the time to grind new aircraft anymore but to grind though ones I already own.
Also note that the game has screwed over several tier spots I liked playing in, such as jumping all of my old favorite British planes up a ton in the tier system (some were clearly overpowered but they went overboard on some like the Boomerang and forgot others like the gift Typhoon Ib), or screwing over my old favorite German lineups (again, they were OP but now are overtiered too much).
Finally, the game has had a constant issue of being too slow to fix flight and damage models and too fast to add new ones, and adding too many German and Russian planes versus too few US/UK and particularly too few Japanese ones. For instance, the Mosquito should be one of the fastest prop aircraft in the game but is at best a mediocre heavy fighter, no better than the Beaufighters that precede it (which is garbage for spending all that time unlocking them, getting worse repair costs, and slower grind of upgrades). Also, the P-47's should generally be tougher aircraft (they're undertiered but that doesn't fix the fact that the flying tank is actually pretty easy to shoot down, and I can easily point to the La-5's DM as what the P-47 should look more like). And of course, the devs seem to hate Italy since what should be great planes (CR.42, MC.200, MC.202) perform like total garbage or when they don't, their .50's can't inflict any damage whatsoever. Now the Breda-Safat .50 was the worst .50 cal of WWII, but they still shot aircraft down with them and I can't kill a biplane with one after shredding people in all sorts of other German, British, and Russian tier 1 fighters.

Good explanation! thanks!
Maybe until the Yer-2 and B-17 come out... :S
The problem there isn't that the bombers are that much better than everything else, but that there are that many people flying them, and that the bombloads are a lot stronger for the bases having the same health.
There is also RB (realistic battles) and SB (simulated i.e. only cockpit view with full physics and aircraft performance... if a plane pulled to the left at startup historically by golly your plane will do same in WT and you need to correct with rudder as you start).
Ah yes thats why in the forums when ever someone posts a complaint its automaticly invalid and really what can you expect its arcade its more for herp-a-derping and having fun than actual Grinding like RB or SB but some people still perfer to grind in AB i respect that but its not a wise choice
