P40 E1

I'm playing a P-40E1 in a lobby with P-51s on my team and im assuming uptier germans, i start with an altitude advantage by about 500m, get out turned on the vertical, out speeded on the turn, against a BF 109 and corsair. Like wtf am I supposed to do? My engine is literally not strong enough. I know I made a mistake by turning vertically and trying a energy trap because my plane is underpowered but why is my plane even competing against these planes?
If I climb, I get outclimbed by other planes that are better. If I furball, I can trade but theres no way I'm going to turn fight so I give up my six and also dont have an energy advantage so I lose anyways.
Can't wait til I get p51. This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

And once you get your P-51 you will fight even better planes than you who will outperform you.

Welcome to uptiers, we can't remove that feature because then the queue time would take for 30 seconds more

Try to delay when you get in the fight. Climb off to the side and wait for the others to get into combat first. Then just vulture in and pick off the weak ones.

Fly like a support plane. You can't really fight much on your own, unless you find something really slow like a J22 or a Zero.

The P51 is an incredibly competent machine, with much better potential when fighting alone.

There is not much you can do, the p40 is not a good plane. The p51 at 4.0 will face a lot of meta planes, such as the Yak3, VL, KI44-2 which will cancel you if you make one mistake.

Yak 3 chokes at alt, Pyorr compresses hard at high speed and has a low top speed, Japan has low top speed. You can deal with all of them in a P51, given good discipline.
It's hard to make mistakes if you keep your speed and distance up. Your only real enemy is the timer/ticket clock.
