New wiki is nice, but some important information is missing.
Although the new wiki's layout is interesting and there are more technical information in many ways (like complete penetration tables for shells), there are a few things that are missing and that should be added back.

First is the visual presentation of ammo racks and how many shells that you need to remove to empty every racks. We also need to see where are the primary ammo racks. It's very important so that you minimize the possibility that your tanks is transformed into a self-propelled moving time bomb. There were often recommendations on how many shells to bring for optimal survivability too (like how many shells to remove to have the turret or hull empty of ammo by example).

Second thing that is lacking is a discussion of the preferable type of ammo. Sometimes, it's self-evident, but many times it's less clear especially when the differences seem minor. It's most important for new players who might not know how unreliable and situational APCRs are by example.

Sometimes, it can also enlight people on how lethal a shell is beyond mere penetration values by example when you have a choice between a HEAT-FS and an early APFSDS on the T-62 by example. The HEAT-FS pierce much more armor than the 3BM4, but the later is preferable in most situations as it is way more lethal and easier to aim.

Another analysis that used to be there and isn't anymore is tactical employment and discussion on armor protection. For new players and even for veterans, it was very useful to give them an idea of how a tank should be employed and what kind of protection you trully have beyond absolute values.

By example, the Tiger armor might seem impressive, but if you don't angle, it's easily penetrated by most medium tanks at its BR. Discussion on weak spots were also vital because they helped a lot to learn how to defeat particular tanks and also what you should hide when you are playing them.

In conclusion, the basic information is there, but what it lacks is visual representations of ammo racks, more in depth analysis about firepower, protection and tactical employment. I think that the new wiki is a step up in comparison to what we had, but it's not in depth enough and it can be improved even more.

They kinda made it look nice, at the expense of info. Like any company these days….

So basically, another downgrade.

Hi, thanks for the feedback. All important informational parts will be added to the wiki when players create new ones in the current content model. Feel free to contribute yourself by creating articles. We also have plans to implement a global search bar and the penetration calculator will return, amongst other things that we're looking to improve.

I left a comment on the news article saying how I dislike the new wiki. For example, why was the historical info removed? There is some text at the top sure, but all the good and detailed stuff that was at the bottom is gone. Why not at least copy paste the old stuff and leave it as placeholder until it gets updated?

A lot of useful links were removed as well, like the armaments, the devblogs about the vehicles (even if they are 10 years old, I like to see them). This is such a massive downgrade. As someone else said in that article, that doesn't feel like a wiki to me. It actually feels like a wiki prototype with the goal of becoming the old wiki again. Very weird decisions were made with this one.

I really dislike to spread negativity but I was really disappointed.

*By the way, I'm glad the old wiki is still up, because, if it is feedback that you want, I'm gonna use that one until the new one gets a LOT of stuff added to it.

You're welcome! Yeah, I've considered writing articles myself, but I'm not sure how to submit them or if there are templates to follow.
