The T1E1 (90) and the two M36s can get the job done, but I've had the most luck with the Hellcat*. The medium Shermans are all too slow and mostly undergunned (unless you get a flank, which can be difficult with how slow they are), and the Rank III AA options are terrible (I think I have more AA kills with the 37mm on the T1E1 than I do with the M19A1). Anything you pick will get OHK'd 95% of the time from any angle.
*The Hellcat is undergunned for the start of the round, but it's so fast and maneuverable that it makes working the flanks relatively easy. You can also help your team out through spotting. It's the only vehicle I've managed to get a nuke with, and that was in a full uptier.
I honestly have different experiences. Every time Germany at this BR drops, it loses miserably.
Tigers and Panthers are miserably overtiered. They are both fairly wobbly due to lack of stabilisers and at 6.0 their armour isn't worth much, unless they get miraculously downtiered one in a million games.
Tigers and Panthers are miserably weak against things like the Jackson, and even 76mm Sherman can pen Panther's turret and Tiger's hull fairly reliably.
Panther's mantlet is also some sort of volumetric bugfest, because I had multiple occasions when my mantlet got hit at the upper half, yet somehow enemy shot bounced back at the top of my hull - pretty much teleporting throigh whole mantlet.
Good guns are nice, but lack of practical armour makes them insanely frustrating to play in my opinion - they are also huge and easy to hit.
That said - US is not much better - zero practical armour, gun equal to 4.0 Germans 1-2 br brackets higher only becasue of stabiliser. The problem is that your stabiliser isn't worth much if you still have to aim carefully to even pen anything - it cancels out. Meanwhile the enemies have to basically hit you anywhere to evaporate you.
and the map that was played on, i wasn't even flanking just holding a spot and spotting targets on a single point map.
