Should the VT fuse be added to mid tier SPAA?
CAS has always been a problem in WarThunder, but I argue its even more OP at 7.0 down because a player can get 1 kill and spawn cas with 2 500kg bombs. For something that takes little skill, shouldn't the SPAA match? It already takes infinitely more skill to down an aircraft than to bomb.

if the spaa had them while in service im all for it.
but no adding for "balance" only.

The large gun AA should have something similar to how radar works for the so purpose of their Timed shells.

The fact that you have to range find to set the fuse, at which point it pointless as the plane is closer than the distance. is dumb.

The VT fuse was used by the Allies, and kept a more guarded secret than the nuke. It wouldn't be realistic for Germany or Russia to have it.

The germans were working on "their" version of a proximity fuse. They got many prototypes but it never went into mass production and operation. So calling it as balance it is theoretically possible to add them for the late WW2 SPAA. We got many prototypes in vehicles atm anyway

Wasn't all the Allies' use of VT fuses in conjunction with radar? Usually with AA guns of 5in or larger?

I'm all for it as long as the ammo was availlable. Aircrafts have it too easy these days.

I looked it up, google says US used them in 90mm guns and Brits 3.7in guns

We would just need a new SPAA, and the guns would be bigger to accommodate for the size.

would be cool a flak 88 with HEVT as a AA, and no AP rounds, just AA busines

I was about to say I'm not sure Americans ever placed their 90mm anti-aircraft gun on a self-propelled chassis, but it turns out they did!

And one such vehicle has already been added to the game, it's just hidden from regular players 0_o

The more you know, huh.

Ok, but that's still well and beyond the caliber used in the SPAA that appears in WT.

Im all for buffing SPAA.

Just do what they did to the OTOMATIC when it comes to APFS-DS, limit the potent ammo to a smaller amount.
10-20% of the maximum Ammo Capacity in Shots of Proximity/Time Fuse would certainly help.
Also China has a dual barrel 57mm SPAA with this type of ammo already, so i don't see why other nations should not have it at the same BR.

At 8.0? No nation other than China uses an SPAA caliber that would readily take a VT fuse.
And the SPAA vehicles with appropriate calibers above 8.0 to have VT rounds already have htem.
