Is the Abrams Literally any good?
No not Bait, I swear. I genuinely can't tell, cause it's so unbelievably mixed, some say good, some say terrible, & i'm starting get a little bit more on the terrible side. Cause it feels so unreliable, & I can't tell if i'm playing it wrong. Ik i'm not amazing at the game, but i'm also not terrible.

most modern MBT are really terrible and rely on shoot/kill first, when playing M1 youre going to hate T80s, when playing T80s youre going to hate Leopard, and so on and so on

M1 has alot of thing going for it, maybe a bit overtier just like the rest of the US tech tree

There are only 3 real abrams in this game the M1 Abrams and the M1IP and the M1A1, the rest are not Abrams as they are based off the export variants. None of them perform the way they should

It's a great tank is you use it in the way it's was built for. The M1 family generally strong turret cheeks armor, good (early ones) to great guns (starting with the M1A1) and ammo, great mobility and decent acceleration thanks to the gaz turbine. However, the hull armor is less effective and the turret ring is vulnerable. Like every MBTs at their BRs, the gun mantle is vulnerable and hard to hide. So, you're not worst or better in that department.

That's why it should be used in hull down position with the hull hidden from enemy sight. Like most western MBTs, it was made for hill defense with the idea that they would whittle down Warsaw Pact mechanized formations by firing from cover on top of crest lines and retreating back for reloading rather than trying to beat the Soviet in manoeuver warfare while the later had a massive numerical superiority. If you fight from hull down, most of your weak spots will be hidden and if you keep yourself relatively far from the enemy, you can then defeat your enemies while being relatively safe from retaliation. That tank is made for sniping and flanking, not brawling.

But what do people do with their Clickbait? They throw themselves on you holding W thinking they're going to win this Operation Desert Storm style, totally forgetting that all what the Iraqi had were T-62s, T-55s, Type 59, Type 69s and a few hundreds of T-72Ms.

what you and other people dont know is the Marines had M60 Pattons in desert storm and still wiped the floor with saddams army as well.

The marines destroyed 100 tanks, and only lost 1 tank. That goes to show you the different level of training the USMC had in M60s

I agree with you that training is way more important than weaponry to measure the potential success of an army in battle. However, it doesn't change my point which is that people are using the M1 wrong thinking that they can mop the floor out of everything like if they were bullying the poorly trained and poorly equiped Iraqi Army.

The Cheeks haven't felt very reliable tbh, even with the A1, but i'm pretty sure that's just cause of better rounds from the enemy. I understand being hull down, & it's the main way I play it, but it hasn't felt rewarding. Enemies just go straight through the cheeks, & Flanking just gets me killed faster cause I end up fighting something that just loses their commander or loader & Driver when I shoot their weak spot, so they get a chance to shoot back. Also just the shell not setting off Russian ammo, but that's a whole separate conversation.... I've had slightly better luck with the AIM, but not enough to change my mind about how unreliable it feels.
